Gorgeous capture!
What a fabulous shot. Such beautiful feather colouring too.
This is a beautiful photograph.
Wow! đđđŚ
I’ve never seen one this colour. Look at the intensity in the eyes! Nice!
Beautiful bird, lovely photo!
Thank you, Phao!
Nice portrait. They look kind of punky with their feathers puffed out.
Thank you, Steve. They are cool, compact little herons. I’ve only seen one or two around here, one at Paradise Pond. Do you see them at the Quabbin or other ponds?
I’ve seen them at Poor Farm Swamp/Brickyard along the Norwottuck Rail Train off Station Road in Amherst. Great Blues and Great Egrets also. Here’s the most recent one from last summer. There’s no guarantee, of course, but they are a common visitor there. Heron’s and Egrets are fun because they stay so still quite often. I’m not much of a bird photographer but I always take advantage when they allow.
A wonderful capture Eliza, what a beautiful bird! xxx
Thank you, Xenia. It has such great plumage!
Great shot!!
Thank you, Catherine!
Beautiful bird, wonderfully captured.
Thank you, Irene!
Reminds me of myself when I first get up in the morning. Except the bird does look a little better. đ
Ha! I know what you mean, I’m not much of a morning person myself. đ
đ
What a handsome bird
Isn’t he just? I love those rusty and iridescent feathers.
Beauty! Never seen one! â¤ď¸
Thanks, Bela. They are rarely seen here in MA, but plenty in FL, it seems!
Yes, I didn’t figure they were anywhere in New England. Fun though! đ
Apparently, via another local photographer, they are seen in the valley, around the CT River. Just not in my immediate area, I guess.
Wow. đ¤Š
Handsome bird! Coincidentally, my post this Wednesday also features a bird.
Thank you, Kris!
Beautiful shot. Great detail and color.
Thank you, David.
That’s one handsome little guy. One thing we’ve noticed this year is the very small number of snowy white egrets we are seeing. I’ve yet to find out where they have all gone.
Thank you, Judy. I hope those egrets are only vacationing elsewhere. đ
What an amazing creature. I’ve never seen one in the feather.
Thank goodness they saved them before they all ended up on women’s hats!
Fine detail and colour!
Thank you, Belinda. Pure luck! đ
Spectacular, Eliza! â¤
Thank you, Donna! đ

Gorgeous! Great capture of a beautiful bird, Eliza.
Thank you very much, Jane! đ
Fabulous capture of a beautiful bird!đ
Thank you, S!
Looks like he is sitting in the green rather than being green.
Must be a trick of the light! đ
How funny it looks, great moment.
đ Gracias!
I like to admire all the details of this plumage
Thank you! It is a beautiful bird.
Beautiful !
Thank you, Harold!
What a fabulous bird and such an interesting colour. Herons have such an amazing intensity about them – well captured in your photo.
Thank you, Carol. They are remarkable hunters.
Oh I can every single feather! WOW.
Thank you, Ruth!
