Beautiful 🙂
Thank you, Karen!
Happy Sunday!
Beautiful bird 💕
Thank you, Saania!
My pleasure!
A perfect background for this goldfinch!
Thank you, Audrey. Winter skies can be such a gorgeous blue!
Such a pretty little bird. I love goldfinches!
Aren’t they the cheeriest little things? 🙂
Along with Chickadees!
Yes!
What a pretty yellow colour it is.
Thank you, Anne. When breeding season comes, the male’s whole body turns bright yellow with black trim. Indeed a pretty little bird!
Gorgeous!
Thank you very much, Carol!
You’re welcome 🙂
Silent and beautiful. We enjoy birdwatching around our new house every day. We have Talgoxe, Domherre and Magpies (skator.)
Thank you, Maria. Birds make the winter so much better!
Reblogged this on Purplerays.
Thank you for reblogging!
I don’t think I have ever seen one of these sweet birds in my garden…
Thank you, Anita. I doubt you would as they are American natives. They twitter constantly and have the sweetest undulating flight song while flying.
Shame… I would love to see them!
So is this your American goldfinch? Quite different to the European one – but no less beautiful.
Thank you, Karina. The female remains olive through the year, but breeding plumage for the male is a gorgeous canary gold with black and white trim. Quite the sight!
Beautiful capture!
Thank you, Cindy! Love your new gravatar!
The background almost looks like water. Soon, their brighter, cheerful feathers will appear. They have a special wavy way of flying & such cute little chirpy & chippy sounds.
It’s true, they are lovely, cheerful garden companions. 🙂
Like a ray of sunshine. 🙂
Oh, nice analogy, Judy, thank you!
Love when these little birds visit! Wonderful capture, looks beautiful in that light and background!🙂
Thank you very much, S!
Such a beautiful pic! Love the contrast.
Thank you, Dawn!
Love everything about this image. The bird is adorable to start with. Then there’s the framing and background. Simply beautiful. 😊
Thank you very much, Irene!
So pretty against the blue sky!
Thank you, Donna! 🙂
Someone’s looking bright. Spring is coming!
I certainly hope so, regardless of what the ground hog thinks! 😉
I second Laurie. It’s always good to see a finch, whether gold-, purple, or house…
Thank you, Lisa!
Sweet bird, Eliza. We stopped feeding the birds after some bear visits and finches are one of the many species I miss seeing. Even though we are in the midst of winter I’ve seen reports of wandering bears due to unusual warmth so there is still a possibility. The birds do well without us but not having them visit the yard leaves a hole in our days.
Thank you, Steve. Because birds give me such pleasure, in ‘bear season’ we take the feeders in at night and put them out in the morning. A bit of a pain, but it is the way we can have our cake and eat it too.
Handsome fellow!
Thank you, Belinda!
Very Nice Eliza! Very colorful against the blue background!
Thank you, Reed!
The finches are getting their yellow on early this year … spring must be in the air. Lovely capture Eliza 💛
Thank you, Val. I think we’re all a bit confused about the mild weather!
One beautiful lone birdie! Great shot!
Thank you kindly, Robert!
Wonderful photos, as usual! The lesser goldfinches are very active here at the moment. Their common name is presumably due to their relatively petite size but I think they need a better one!
Thank you, Kris. Such pretty birds!
Nice ‘stillness in action’ shot. 🙂
Thank you!
Beautiful little bird! Lovely image..
Thank you!
Such a lovely photo Eliza! 🙂
Thank you, Cathy!
Majestic! ❤
Thank you, Deborah!
Gorgeous colours and a very sweet bird!
Thank you very much!
My pleasure (always!)!
❤
Beautiful! Great sky!
Thank you, Maria!
Beautiful !
Thank you!
Wow . What time of the day did you shoot it Eliza. Loved the bird and the background. Just perfect.
Thank you, Deepa, much appreciated. It was probably early to mid-morning, the sun still relatively low.
Wonderful and wintry photo of the goldfinch, Eliza. They’re so often in the browns and golds of fields, so this cold blue background gives it an extra flair.
Thank you, Jet. ❤
His yellow color is lit beautifully and works so well against the blue background!
Thank you, Denise. The past two days a huge flock of them have descended on our feeders. I love all that action!
A beautiful photo Eliza, I love the yellow of the bird against the blue background.
Thank you, Alison!
