June brings daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare) abundantly into bloom, so I picked a vaseful of these cheerful flowers as a base for this week’s vase. Also included are Carolina lupine (Thermopsis villosa), sundrops (Oenothera fruticosa), smooth brome grass (Bromus inermis) and Allium (A. aflatunense ‘Purple Sensation’) seed heads.

Those Carolina lupine are big, on long stems!
They grow about 4′ tall, practically a shrub!
Bush lupine grows about as tall, and blooms with a similar color of yellow, but the flower stalks are relatively short. They would not be so practical as a cut flower.
Sooo pretty!! I love your arrangements!
Thanks, Deb! Hope you enjoy the summer. 🙂
Your summer solstice has arrived Eliza, and blossoming well it is 🤗❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark 🙂
Midsummer beauties 🙂
Thank you, Maria. Daisies always make me smile. 🙂
How lucky to have a garden with such beautiful blooms! I Love your vases full of all the daisies and yellow flowers! ❤️
Thank you, Diana!
Delightful
Merci!
This is a beautifully ‘fresh’ looking arrangement 🙂 🙂
Thank you, Anne. 😎
Such a happy vase of blooms…must have been fun to arrange.
Thanks, Alice! I really love the common daisy. 😉
What a happy vase! Love, love, love daisies and the others you added just make everything gorgeous.
Thank you, Dale! 🌞
🌼🌼🌼
What a joyful looking arrangement, I love the yellow and white theme. Those lupin like blooms are amazing.
Thank you, Noelle. Thermopsis is an underused Southeastern native, I don’t see it much.
A vase full of sunshine! 😊
Thank you, Pepper, it truly is solar rays made manifest! 🙂 🌞
Such a cheerful sight! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, K, my pleasure! 🌼
💛🙂🤗 Always a winner! Love it!! 😍
Thank you, Susan!
Lovely bouquets. Your garden must be gorgeous right now as this is the best time for blooms.
My daisies are still just in buttons but should be opening soon. The garden is a bit wild right now as we have had so much rain lately that I haven’t been able to go in to clean it up. (Suzanne)
Thank you, Suzanne. June is wonderful in the garden.
You must be in the minority of folks getting enough rain. It’s lacking in so many places, including here. What a difference a couple hundred miles makes!
So pretty – it looks like a miniature meadow!
Thank you, Barbara. A favorite style of mine. 🙂
Yellows with daisies, it doesn’t get more ‘summer’ than that! Really lovely arrangement, Eliza. The vase sets off the white, yellow, and green beautifully.
Thank you, Tina! 🙂
A very jolly bouquet! The flowers look as though they are dancing.
Thank you, Laurie. Cue a jaunty jig!
Who knows what they do when at night when you and your husband are asleep?
Invite the faeries to all-night parties! 😀
Such a cheery bouquet. I’m attempting to grow daisies.
Thanks, they seem to thrive on neglect!
A cheery combination!
Thank you, Sandy!
Ah, yes: I really like this arrangement, but the vase, itself, really makes it perfect. It balances the yellows so nicely. 🙂
Many thanks, Beth!
Love those daisies. Nothing says summer like daisies.
Thank you, Monika. I never tire of them!
I love the cheerful yellow and white arrangement, Eliza!
Thank you, Kris! Pure summer!
A beautiful meadow in a vase! Daisies are the perfect flower as spring moves into the summer.
Thanks, it was a good spring and let’s hope summer is the same or better!
I always enjoy your Monday posts, Eliza. As pretty as ever 😊
Many thanks, Belinda!
Summer has definitely arrived at your house. Love the Carolina lupine. Perfect company to the pristine daisies.
Thank you, Susie. Do you see much of that lupine in your area?
I’ve seen it at the local botanical garden (NCBG) but can’t say I have noticed it much elsewhere. I’ll have to look more closely for it. It’s native to the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia, but supposedly grows here in the Piedmont well.
Fabulous. I love those Lupines! They would look terrible with Heliconias!!!
🙂 Thanks, Amy!
planted Aurora zinnias today! fingers crossed.
Mine are still small, their germination was spotty, but I will be curious to see if the come true or were crossed by pollinators. Time will tell!
The seeds were planted with very open pollinated envy! should be interesting.
I’m crazy for the Carolina lupine, such a cheery hue. And for what you garden is producing.
Thank you, Tom. It’s a pretty amazing plant!
White, yellow, and green is one of my favorite combinations. And how appropriate that your header photo has a metallic green bee on a yellow and white daisy!
Thank you, Linda. I love those beautiful emerald bees!
Your vases are a treat!
Thank you very much, Ellen! Sorry about the delay in my reply. Found your comment in spam, argh!
How fresh is that, with the yellow and white! Such a sunny summery vase, Eliza
Thank you, Cathy. Summer is here!
A happy summer vase full of dancing flowers. Love it! 😁
Thank you, Cathy!
I absolutely love daisies and have just cut back ours. Your bouquet looks gorgeous and cheerful. The lupins are the perfect match for them.
Thank you, Annette. I always try to leave clumps of them here and there so I will always have a few for arranging. They are an ode to joy. 🙂
The yellow in the daisy bouquet reminds me of yellow in the woods of Maine, which always accentuated fall and goldenrod which meant winter was just around the corner! 😳😘
I know that time isn’t all that far away, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, ha! 😉
Definitely not. It’s just when I see those beautiful bright yellows, the hardwiring in my brain just goes off. 😳😉❤️
Eliza, this is such a cheerful collection of garden goodness. Your vase is equally beautiful.
Thank you, Alys. June is a amazing month, the garden bursts forth with such exuberance!
Exuberance. Yes!
Delightful daisies – always cheery.
Thank you, Flavia. The happiest of flowers. 🙂
Delightful!
Thank you, Rupali!
The only thing more enjoyable than your vasefuls are your gardenfuls that provide the flowers, Eliza!
Thanks, Steve! I’ve cut back on maintenance except on a couple beds, I’m not as energetic as I once was. 😉
Gorgeous Eliza! They also take up room at my place but still have a hard time cutting anything but grass and bittersweet 🙂
Thank you, Eunice. I’ve been picking bouquets since I could walk.. must be in my DNA! 😉
A beautiful thing to do. I did when I was young but mom yelled at me for picking Lady Slippers maybe that is when I stopped 🙂
Aw, that would do it. Now that you can discern the difference, give yourself permission to cut a few ‘fruit’ of your labor to bring inside. Good therapy! 👍🏼
