Incredible photos! Looks like abstract art.
Thank you, Ellen. I can get totally lost out there viewing these seeps!
The details are indeed beautiful. Water is an amazing substance, in all its forms.
Thank you, Audrey! Agreed, I love it when ice makes these intricate patterns.
So remarkable – and other-worldly!
Yes, I was gasping and exclaiming over them, lol!
How fascinating Eliza. Happy & Healthy New Year to you and yours!
Thank you, Cindy! 🎉
Mother Nature… the best artist in the world…
Agreed! Thanks J & A!
Art produced by nature and nicely captured by you.
Thank you! Nature is an amazing artist.
Nice finds, Eliza. From your brook? They won’t enlarge for me but I can see their beauty and great patterning as they are.
Thank you, Steve. From a seep across the street. Too much water in the stream and river to form this kind of ice. Those are bubbly and chunky, as well as layers. Another opportunity!

Fabulous collection of ice art!!🙂
Thank you! I found them amazing!
Beautiful✨
Thank you, Anita!
Truly a gift for the senses from Mother Nature.
Indeed, you should see how I ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ over them!
These are wonderful. 😁👏🏽
Thank you, Pepper!
Wow, Eliza, what a series this is! I could gaze on them for ages. I love the gold highlights too.
Thank you, Susan. They are a world unto their own.
These wonderful photos will inspire me to go out and take some shots of a creek about 2 miles from home, maybe. 😜
Go for it! 🙂
It looks as though some flash freezing might have been taking place. The patterns are beautiful, and clearly show the influence of the leaves beneath them.
Thank you, Linda. Yes, the temps dropped like a rock, leaving us with amazing ice, not so welcome on the roads, however.
Bubbles, swirls, layers of patterns and delicate ice colors…fascinating…the last photo looks like a stingray!
Truly absorbing for me, pareidolia at its best!
Ice swirls and ice bubbles are fascinating. I’m glad you got the chance to photograph them. (I wanted to enlarge, as you urged, but when I click on these pictures they don’t enlarge for me.)
Thanks, Steve. Sorry you couldn’t enlarge them… sometimes I have to hit the Alt+ to enlarge the computer screen itself.
The icy swirls draw one in deeply. Mesmerizing image Eliza.
Thank you, Susie. I was out again today finding new frozen puddles to gaze into, mesmerizing indeed!
Stunning ice art Eliza, I love Mother Nature’s meditative pieces 💛
Thank you, Xenia. Nature is the ultimate artist!
Beautiful patterns Eliza
Thank you, Karina!
This is beautiful. I saw it first on a reblog. Lovely.
Thank you very much!
👌🏻📷👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
Fine spotting, Eliza! These are lovely!
Thank you, Belinda!
That is quite literally, cool! Love seeing the fallen Red Oak leaves as well.
Thanks, I simply marvel at these ephemeral formations and find I have to drag myself away.
These are stunning (just so you know when you have a slideshow, you can’t click and make them bigger). They didn’t need to be, though!
Thank you, Dale, I didn’t know that– but glad you were able to enjoy them all the same! 🥰
No worries! I was very much able to enjoy them 🙂
Beautiful shapes, how they all created different shapes and colors amazes me. Ice is a truly fascinating!
Thank you, Donna, it certainly is! 🙂
So so pretty. Incredible shots Eliza!!!
Thank you, Dawn!
Amazing patterns! Did your fingers freeze while getting these stunning photos?
Thank you, Barbara. Only briefly, then back inside my warm, furry mittens they went!
So many different patterns in such a small frozen puddle!
I can spend an inordinate amount of time gazing at a nicely frozen puddle! Akin to visiting an art exhibit. 🙂
Very true!
The lighting on the ice is really nice … wonderful ice pattern!
Thank you, Denise. I can get so lost in puddles like this!
Fantastical!
Thanks, Nailah, glad you enjoyed them!
