This is so very beautiful. Nature’s masterpiece to enjoy for a while.
Thank you, Anne. The ice formations always captivate me!
Always fascinating!
Thanks, Laurie. One of the perks of northern living! 😉
The variety of patterns even in this relatively small space is quite something. There’s a lot to see that a quick glance doesn’t reveal.
Thanks, Linda. I can get totally lost exploring the ice formations when it gets this cold. Mesmerizing and always changing day to day.
Beautifully intricate Eliza!
Thank you, Cindy!

Stunning ❤️💜❤️
Thank you very much! 🙂
Wonderful. Love the barrancos being formed at the edges.
Thank you, Allison. Had to look up barranco… a good, new Scrabble word! 🙂
Lovely frosty crystals. Your brook? I envy you being able to just walk out in your yard to find these winter beauties.
Thanks, Steve. Yes, it is easy for me to just walk out the door. The streams all around are looking great! Who knows what this freezing rain will create?
Beautiful though chilly
Thank you, Karina. One has to bundle up well on days like that!
🙂
I could stand there studying the patterns for a long while, if it weren’t so cold! ❄️
I know, the cold keeps hurrying us along! 🙂
Nice Ice!!! ❄😆😆
Thanks, Chris! 🙂
I have been hearing about the cold up north. It really can be beautiful.
It can be, for sure. Yesterday was a crisp, bluebird day and my walk was so invigorating, the woods beautiful after a fresh layer of snow.
Beautiful!🙂
Thank you, S!
Oh, that’s a beautiful shot.
Thank you, Judy. It has been a chilly past few days and now it is freezing rain. You’re missing nothin’! 😉
Love those chilly crystals. ❄️❄️
🙂 Thanks, Val!
Ice feathers…
Yes, belonging to the mythological Icebird! 😉
How beautiful and intricate. I expect it is a bit too chilly to pause for too long to admire such sights!
Thank you, Carol. Yes, warm clothing and insulated boots are the order of the day. The camera has to stay inside my coat between shots. As do my fingers! 🙂
Thanks – that gives me some insight into what it’s like to walk in such temps!
Stay safe I fell on the ice waiting on results from x-rays
Yes, esp. today, this ice storm is making the going quite treacherous and there’s no thaw in sight. Take care and hope they don’t find anything broken.
Got word late yesterday no breaks and to add compression so I spent the day in bed watching football 🙂
Good news!
I needed some 🙂
Beautiful photo! Ice presents such a variety of forms and shapes, well-worth observing and photographing!
Thank you, Tina. I often find the daily changes in ice formations akin to going into an art museum where the exhibits change every day. 🙂
There’s something wonderful about being able to study these intricate patterns from the warmth of my home, rather than having to bundle up against the cold to see them!
Glad you are enjoying the views, Debbie! 🙂
Cold and beautiful!
Thank you, Maria!
I could take pictures of the ice patterns all day 🙂 Lovely, Eliza.
Thank you, Dale. With no two alike, we really could!
That’s for sure!
Gorgeous crystalline patterns Eliza! 💛
Thank you, Xenia! x
Oooooh! Look at that! Gorgeous capture, Eliza. A work of art in ice. 🙂
Thank you, Robin! The cold makes beautiful ice art for sure. 🙂
Mesmerizing!
🙂 Thank you, Donna!
Wonderful patterns, so pretty!
Thank you, Belinda!
Ice is such an artistic medium!
Thank you, Kris. That is the truth! 🙂
Wow! Another lovely Sunday photo, Eliza.
Thank you, Alys!
Awesome textures and patterns, Eliza. Love it!
Thank you, Jane!
Like the detail but looks really cold
Thank you, Diana. It is pretty chilly at the moment. Minus 14ºC tonight!
It’s good that you finally got some ice to photograph this season. Ice lends itself to abstractions, as you’ve shown here.
Thank you, Steve. Lots of ice forming today… it won’t be much warmer than 7F (and I won’t mention wind chill).
Despite the chill, I hope you’ll take advantage of the ice for more photos.
Thanks, tomorrow promises to be a warmer day. 🙂
Very beautiful Eliza!
Thank you, Agnes!
Glad to see you’re on an icy streak.
January is a very cold month here. 🙂
WOW!
Thanks, Alison. Ice sure is fascinating. 🙂
Very pretty! Delicate ice like that is hard to find here. I guess not only because there is often snow on top but because of the constant freezing at night and melting during the day. I keep looking though!
Thank you! Yes, the magic happens when it is cold and dry for several days in a row. We’ve had a couple good spells for ice building in the past few weeks.
