Wonderful shot, Eliza!
Thank you, Sandy!
Such gorgeous colors!
Thank you, Cindy! I wonder if they prefer orange? ‘This color looks good on me!’ 😀
So beautiful! You have a wonderful camera as your photo is just awesome! ❤️ 🦋
Thank you kindly, Diana! x
Such clarity in colours and detail Eliza! This is truly an amazing photograph.
Thank you, Maria. They can be quite flighty, so getting a good shot of one is a challenge. It depends on how hungry/thirsty they are, I guess!
Yes, butterflies are not easy to catch with your camera.
Perfect 🌈
Thank you, Karen. x
Wow, so beautiful, Eliza! ❤️
Thank you, John! 🙂
Definitely a photograph worth framing!
Thank you very much, Anne! 🙂
Perfection!
Thank you, Audrey! ❤

Thank you for reblogging!
The clarity is excellent! Great shot, Eliza!
Thank you, Isha!
Excellent post
Thank you
Lovely shot Eliza, and a lovely monarch as well of course.
Thank you, Adele. Their numbers are better than last year, so I remain hopeful we can turn their decline around. We’ve got to work on the migration corridors however; a bigger project, to say the least.
Eliza, that’s a truly great photo. I do not have good luck with starting zinnias in the spring so I have one zinnia blooming right now. Good thing it’s a beauty. 🙂
Thank you, Judy. I had a late start as rabbits ate most of my seedlings, so I had to buy a couple packs to fill in. But the patch came through and has many visitors. I leave the seed heads for the gold finches, too.
Absolutely beautiful. No words required. The colors and the two subjects speak volumes. Great shot Eliza.
Thank you, Dee!
Happy to see your Monarch enjoying the zinnia. Lovely photo.
Thank you, Susie. The migration is underway!
Beautiful capture Eliza! 😍
Thank you, Julie! Hope you are well. x
Huge smile! A perfect zinnia for him…have a good flight 🥰
Yes! 🙂
I had a flurry of about a dozen Monarchs on my flowers & meadow yesterday. Maybe they are gathering for migration? It was nice to see them in numbers. Is that a picture of a female?
Hard to tell sex with their wings closed. I think the ones we are seeing are on migration from VT. They have good numbers up north from what I’ve read. I’m pleased that what I’m seeing is more than last year.
Me too!
Monarchs are on the move. One of the things I love about blogging is seeing what’s happening throughout the country.
Yes, they are. I’m seeing a few every day passing through. I reckon they are Vermonters. 😉
Perfection 💕
Thank you, Val! x
Lovely. You should know that I look forward to your Silent Sunday post each week. 😊👍
Thank you, Irene, nice to know! ❤

Thank you very much, MJ!
So many times I’ve seen these guys, yet never once have I captured a picture of one this outstanding, Eliza — thank you. It’s simply beautiful!
Thank you kindly, Debbie!
One of the best Monarch shot that I have ever admired!
Wow, thanks so much, Hien!
A beautiful photograph Eliza and such a treat to see these lovely monarch butterflies 💛🦋
Thank you, Xenia. They are quite precious!
My all time favorite
Thank you, Greg. 🙂
Ooh-la-la! This one is kinda begging to be a screen saver since I don’t often see monarchs in the wild here.
Thank you! You have my permission to copy and paste. 🙂
Thanks!
Dazzling!!🙂
Thank you, S!
Beautiful shot. I was going to ask “do you think they know how great they look on orange flowers?” and then I noticed you’d made a similar comment 😉
Thanks, Kris. 🙂
Very nice Eliza! Enjoyed seeing them!
Thank you, Reed!
Orange on orange is a win-win! Nice shot!
Thank you, Tina. They are headed your way!
What a beautiful combo!!
Thank you, Dale. It is so nice to see a good amount of monarchs this year. Fingers crossed they have good weather and ample flowers en route to Mexico.
Yes! I sure hope so.
Wonderful photo, Eliza!
Thank you, Belinda!
At first glance, I thought the flower was Tithonia rotundifolia, or Mexican sunflower. The color’s the same. A zinnia never crossed my mind, since I so rarely see them here. It’s a lovely photo, and a more than attractive match between flower and butterfly.
Thank you, Linda. I’m surprised that zinnias don’t grow well in your region as I believe they originally came from Mexico, but I suppose there are many different regions and elevations in both places.
I think they do grow here successfully, but they’re generally in gardens, and I mostly don’t visit gardens. Since they aren’t native, I’m not likely to run into them in the places I visit — hence my comment that I don’t see them.
Oh, I see, of course. 🙂
Exquisite and finely detailed! 💙
Thank you, Barbara!
Wow! Stunning!
Thank you, Alys!
Absolutely perfect! This should be made into a gift card Eliza. 😃
Thank you very much, Cathy! I’ll take that under advisement… 🙂
Beautiful, Eliza, perfect color coordination!
wow Eliza, just breathtaking color…well done!
Thank you, Sylvia! x
May many a monarch meander your way.
Thanks, Steve. So far, it is proving to be a promising year with several passing through my garden daily.
Beautiful capture … love the color, composition and background!
Thank you, Denise!
Colour co-ordinated too!
IKR? Lucky landing! 🙂
