Love these pops of bright color, Eliza, on what has been a gray and dreary day where I live.
Thank you, Mike. You might have noted there is snow in the background. Blooming plants help me weather the winter inside. It would be quite dull without them!
Reblogged this on Purplerays.
Thank you for reblogging!
What a welcome splash of colour.
Thanks, Jill. It does brighten up these dull winter days.
Seeing more…Hibiscus stamens are so interesting & colorful with the red part on the end. I had a flower on mine last week, pretty sure it’s the same color!
Probably is, 😉 I imagine they are shipped by the dozens for planting out as annuals. This was gifted by my SIL, who didn’t want it at the end of the season. It’s bloomed ever since, lucky me. 🙂
I always like the stamens on the hibiscus.
They make me think of little red-headed aliens, lol!
Oh! So lovely and bright, Eliza!
Thank you, Julie!
Funnily enough I was considering photographing a close up of a large pink hibiscus in my garden today, but the sun was too hot! Yours is a beautiful colour.
Thank you, Anne. The new hybrid colours are quite scrumptious!
Beautiful! Such a rich color……
Thank you! Nice to see on a gray winter day. 🙂
Almost thought it was summer!
I think we suffer from the same affiction. 😀
What a beauty! That color is mouthwatering.
It is, like orange sorbet! 🙂
Yes!
You captured beautifully this outstanding flower species, Eliza. Hibiscus are such bold statements in the garden, and this one with it’s bright color is double-bold. I especially like those last two photos with the veins.
Many thanks, Jet, much appreciated!
Gorgeous macros Eliza! 🧡 xxx
Thank you, Xenia!
I really like the detail of the first very close up shot and what a lovely colour too:)
Thank you, Karina. The colour really cheers me up, it’s been so gray lately.
Here too.
What a glorious colour Eliza. A lovely splash of colour in a garden.
Thank you, Dawn!
You’re welcome 🙂I’m in Esperance under grey skies! Brightened my morning!
Glad to hear it – hope the weekend ahead is a good one!
It’s cooling down a bit. Home overnight then headed out again. Rest of month up north to warmer weather. It’s been a busy month!
Thank goodness for lovely bright flowers with the snow-covered backdrop. Those golden Hibiscus are enough to brighten any dreary day 🙂
I’ve never seen that shade of yellow in a Hibiscus flower before, only pale lemon-coloured ones.
Thank you, Vicki. It’s a pretty one, for sure!
When I look at these close ups and consider every exquisite detail, I cannot help but see the hand of our Creator. What an amazing, amazing world we live in..what a reminder to take a minute, turn off all the blah blah blah and look closely – real close – at the stunning intricacies we sometimes overlook. SO BEAUTIFUL!! Thanks for these pictures! 😃
Thank you, Cindy. Glad you liked them. As they say, “God is in the details.” 🙂
He sure is..WOW!
What fabulous pictures!
Thank you very much! 🙂
Now, that is stunning!
Thank you, Judy!
Beautiful color and photos very appreciated on our coldest night of winter.🙂
Thanks much, stay warm!
Reblogged this on Blue Dragon Journal.
Thank you for reblogging, Eliza!
These are absolutely gorgeous, Eliza! The colour is so vibrant, and the details you have captured are very fine indeed!
Thank you very much, Pete!
Beautifully done
Thank you, Derrick.
Gorgeous captures, Eliza!
Thank you very much, Donna!
Magnificent. As hibiscus grow outdoors here I had not been aware that they can be grown as indoor plants – and in the winter too?
Thanks, Carol. Yes, sold as an summer annual here, it does well when brought in and has flowered regularly since fall (it loves fish fertilizer!).
What a beautiful and cheerful indoor presence, and interesting about the fish fertilizer!
These images are beautiful. That color!
Thank you, Sylvia. I never tire of it! 🙂
Beautiful, Eliza. I haven’t been able to grow Hibiscus outside, much less inside! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Thank you, Kris. That surprises me… must be the low humidity, which of course, they thrive in.
Sweet 😊
Thanks!
Beautiful nature photography! I’m a new fan. Looking forward to view more of your excellent photos.
Thank you very much, Marisa, and welcome!
Gorgeous closeups and color, Eliza!! Just lovely!! xo
Thank you, Amy! 🙂
Lovely captures of a hibiscus, Eliza. 😊
Thank you, Irene! x
I’ve never seen that color in a hibiscus before, and it’s scrumptious. We’ve been quite gray and dreary here on the Texas coast, too, and a splash of color like this is just the ticket!
Thank you – the new hybrids have so many more colors and these are ‘miniatures’ – they stay small and don’t get that big. Wonders!
Beautiful images, Eliza. Love the warmth of the color. 🙂
Thank you kindly, Robin!
Stunning Eliza!!!
Thank you, Cindy!
Gorgeous! I don’ recall ever seeing an orange hibiscus before now.
Thank you, Loree!
Our Hibisci (?) are just plain old red…Lady Baltimore…and these are so differently rich in color. Unfortunately the foliage is always being nibbles so the plant itself is disappointing but not so the flowers. One year we had a cool katydid yumming on some of the pollen.
I like that you shared the backs of the flowers. They don’t get their due and often are almost as striking as the fronts. Such a lovely shade of orange and very nice looks at the flower.
That beautiful bright colour make me think if summer! Thank you for sharing Eliza!
Thank you, Maria. It’s nice to have a bit of color inside in the midst of winter!
Absolutely!
What a beautiful, uplifting colour. I have been half-waiting for a rain storm to arrive and it is finally here, which seems strange after bathing in these sunny pictures.
Thank you, Susan! Hope storm Dennis wasn’t too hard on you.
Hibiscus are a favorite of mine. Beautiful!
Gracias!
Lovely images! I especially like the one in which it looks like Hibiscus is longingly looking out the window, waiting for spring… ❤
Thank you, Denise. I like that thought!
I like that super macro photo. You can see all the fine yexture.
Teresa
Thank you, Teresa. Nature, up close, is fascinating!
Sure is! 👍🏼
A delightful splash of sunshine!
Yes, it is– Thanks, Fi!
What type of camera and lens did you use to shoot these?
Nikon DX VR, 18-55mm
Thank you. I’m rather new at using my Nikon. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to sit down and figure it all out, especially macro.
That little tulip icon should do the trick for close up shots. 🙂
Beautiful deep yellow, lovely shot!
Thank you!
Your photography keeps getting better and better! I love how you capture emotions in an image. This one brings me joy 🙂
How kind of you to say so, Shayleene– thank you!
You are so welcome! ❤
Such a beautiful color, love it 😍
Thank you, Karin!
That’s a beauty! Love the deep orange color.
Thank you, Denise!
Awesome colors
Thank you! x
