Source: A Love Letter to the Norwegian Winter
Beautiful in both words and pictures, this post from Trini Lind will make even the most ardent winter curmudgeon’s heart melt. The best ode to the joy of winter I’ve ever read.

"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” ― Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

Thank you for sharing this – it was a great reminder of all the things that can make winter wonderful (a good reminder for someone who gets as much winter as we do in Wisconsin!).
Exactly! She helps us focus on all the good parts of winter. 🙂
Thanks for sharing Eliza – a lovely piece and some stunning photos too.
You probably don’t get the snow, but your days are dark. Twinkling lamplight from cottages sounds so inviting!
Yes snow is rare, but yes it can be dark particularly these grey wet days:)
Oh, I do agree! I love Norway. Thanks so much for sharing this.
You’re welcome. It was too beautiful not to share!
Wow!
Amazing beauty! 😉
What a beautiful post from Trini. Thank you for pointing us to it. Now I want to visit Norway in winter.
Maybe even see the aurora borealis!
I totally agree with you, Eliza!! What an amazing read! Thank you for sharing this. I missed this one somehow!!! ❤
Helps us see the romantic side of winter, eh? 😉
Yes it does!!! Immensely!!! 🙂 ❤
Beautiful post and stunning photos. I do like winter this winter!
Sets the mood for the upcoming holidays!
Oh my, this is a love letter to winter and the pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing this.
You’re welcome! I loved all those wonderful photos.
Winters like this are something I have seen in my dreams, since meeting a lady from Sweden, just before my first child was born. She told me stories of the winters in her home country, and how the celebrations of Christmas lasted for days, like a huge winter party. Thank you so much for sharing, Eliza. ❤
My pleasure. I can imagine that Christmas would be big up there along with the Solstice when the days at last begin to lengthen once again.
Great share, Eliza. Really beautiful.
🙂 Glad you enjoyed it!
Stunning. 🙂
Almost makes one want to go and see it in person. Bundled up, of course!
Thank you for sharing this lovely blog! I felt so inspired when I clicked on her link and saw all the beauty she shares! ❤
Trini is a sweet romantic. 🙂 Glad you liked it, Kim!
