Architecture in nature 🌈
Thanks, Karen. It is lovely to observe for sure!
Like abstract art!
It is! So much to see in a small space. Thanks, Ellen.
Very intriguing, so many colors!
Looking closely offers many rewards. 🙂
Such a rich texture, Eliza. Lovely.
Thank you, Steve!
I love trees!
They are indispensable!
Excellent. I like these patterns of the bark.
Thank you, Rabirius. Tree bark always fascinates me with its beauty.
So much subtle color! Beautiful. Thanks for the Black Cherry tag…that was not my initial list of candidates.
Thank you, Mic. Plate breaks are so pretty on this tree, then add lichen, even lovelier.
Love, love, love! I can’t tell you how many pictures I have of bark but none look like this! Magnificent!
Thank you so much, Kathy! I find bark endlessly fascinating. Dyed in the wool tree hugger I am. 🙂
Micro worlds in there. Ditto on the Black Cherry tag. V. helpful
Thank you, Allison. It’s so true, worlds within worlds.
I love this photo, with its geometric shapes and little spots of lichen color.
Thank you, Lisa!
Wonderful texture! At first I thought i was looking at a close-up of a dragon—that’s how my mind runs!
Thank you, Laurie. It does have a somewhat reptilian skin, doesn’t it? A clue to the book? There be dragons? 😉
None planned yet, but you never know!
Great capture Eliza. I’m a huge fan of bark, all the textures and patterns. Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday, we had some snow here last and it’s ‘snow’ pretty out there today! 😉
Thank you, Julie! Bark is marvelous, for sure. I bet it is looking like a Christmas card where you are.
That’s funny I took a similar photo last week. Just love the patterns made by the over -lapping layers of bark
GMTA, 🙂 I love looking at bark, like fingerprints, no two alike.
Lovely texture and shapes. I’m a big fan of tree bark as they have so much variety and interest to be gathered.
Thank you, Vicki. There is always something to see up close.
Nature’s artwork. Wonderful colour and detail.
Thank you, Belinda!
I love the lichen. What kind of tree is it?
Black cherry. Its plates split into great patterns.

Thank you for reblogging!
Oh, I love bark close ups. So much character, colour and artistry in one frame.
Thank you, Adele. Long been a subject of fascination for me.
Wonderful capture!🙂
Thank you!
Love this – so fun. One of my most requested photos is the one I took close-up of an old, old coconut tree trunk. ❤
Thank you, Bela. There is something so elemental in the macros of trees. Do you have a link to that photo to share? x
That ought to work. 😛
Thanks – your photos are awesome!
Oh goodie! You had a peep. Didn’t know if you’d be able to access. Well, the compliment cuts both ways 😉 Cheers, and have a wondrous end of week there, Eliza. ❤
Thank you!
Great texture and pattern in this bark. I like the subtle color tones too with the bits of lichen.
Thank you, Denise. I find bark, particularly deeply textured, to be so interesting. Add moss and lichen, even more so. No two trees alike!
Lovely!
Thank you, Fi!
So much expression and beauty in a tree trunk — wonderful photo, Eliza.
Many thanks, Jet!
So much wonder there – feel like I just disappeared into the tree bark and went on a little meditative journey. Thanks!
Thank you, so glad to read that. I always hope my photos ‘take a person away’ from the daily grind for a little respite. 🙂
Beautiful. It’s almost like a piece of jewellery. I, too, have started looking at bark more closely. Always beautiful.
Thank you, bark textures are so attractive to me. Love the detail.
Beautiful art. My daughter have always had a thing for the texture of trees. It started long before she could talk. While sitting in a baby carrier on my belly, she used to signal that she want us to go up to trees. When I did, she almost meditatively put her hands on them and closed her eyes for a moment or two.
Wow, a genuine Earth goddess! Hope she never loses that connection. ❤
Amen
OH this is SO cool!!! I just today took a couple of shots of tree bark. Just fascinating, Eliza!!! Beautiful Art by Mother and Eliza! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
🙂 Thank you, Amy. We’re in macro moods, I guess. 🙂
Amazing textures Eliza!
Thank you, Maria. I was thinking just this morning, while I was tending your plants (doing well btw), that I hadn’t seen a post from you in a while and here is a comment from you – synchronicity!
That’s great! Thanks! I’ve been a bit busy. I’ll try to blog a bit more.
I love this, Eliza. ♥♥♥ I sat here and stared at it for a while, mesmerized by the worlds of colors, textures, and patterns. It would make a fantastic print (and meditation!).
Thank you very much, Robin!
It may have been silent Sunday but your picture speaks volumes. The bits of lichen look like they could be copper.
Thank you, Steve. The details found in bark are a whole world unto itself.
