    I’ve never been around daffodils, so here’s a question. Are they as fragrant as they are beautiful, or does it depend on the species? The mix of yellow and white is especially appealing.

      Thanks, Linda. It depends upon the variety. The big trumpets are downright smelly, but the jonquil and smaller narcissi are often sweetly fragrant. You can guess which ones I tend to plant in my garden!

      Thank you, Dymoon. The warm weather last week made them all pop. Planted by now-deceased neighbors long ago, this border is a living reminder of their generosity.

      Hundreds! I seem to recall the couple used a tractor to open the sod, plant them and cover them up in the 90s. They almost lost them as they mowed the foliage too early the first year. I advised them to leave the foliage to the end of June in future years. The flowers were meager for a few years, but now they are back to and beyond their former glory. The couple have both passed on, but their legacy is enjoyed by the whole neighborhood.
