What a perfect description, Eliza!
Love this!
Thanks much, Dale!
🙂
Having just been outdoors in the dark and looked up at the stars before the sun rises, I think your description is most apt!
Thank you, Anne!
I love moss, and my bonsai do too. It keeps their soil from drying out…
Sounds lovely!
“Galaxies” is an interesting choice of words. It’s a reminder of “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….”
Yes, a whole world within a world. 🙂
I came across some moss at the Solo tract, and when I looked at the macro image of them, they did indeed look star-like. I had no idea.
Macro photography really opens us to a whole new world. I love it and esp. enjoy seeing shots by photographers with better equipment than mine.
A fitting description. The universe repeats it patterns everywhere, large and small. Love how bright the green is.
Thank you, Barbara. I love the evergreens in winter, the color of life. 🙂
Sparkly green and soft….and snow!
Evergreen wonders! 💚
Vertical planting at its very natural best. 🙂
Yes, indeed… I never tire of looking at these little worlds. 🙂
Perfect title and lovely image for Wordless Wednesday. 😊
Thank you, Pepper! 🙂
Perfect title! How they sparkle.
Thank you, Laurie!
Pretty green with the bark constellations.
Scenes like these act like stoplights for me, always must pause to look it over. 🙂
The moss is fantastic.
Love the bits of fuzzy green with the rough-textured bark; it’s a nice combination of emerging life with stable foundation. Nice shot!
Thank you, Tina!
It does seem like that, such intricate structures.
Thank you, Belinda!
Clever title. I’ve never seen moss climb trees but then moss is relatively uncommon here – except this year.
Thanks, Kris. We have many different types here growing on all sorts of surfaces. They do require a far amount of moisture, so they are probably having a good year given all the rain you’ve had.
That they are. 😀
Yes! 🙂
Beautiful … and so is your title!
Thank you, Debbie!
I love their spring green color!
Thank you, Rebecca. It is the greenest it gets here in winter, I’ll take it!
Oh how pretty, it so livens up the winterscape!
Thank you, Donna. They really do!
i do miss the variety of mosses and lichens in New England. Viscerally sometimes! 💗
Yes, there are many forms here and this winter has been a good one for them with most days above freezing and plentiful moisture. They practically glow!
As they would. We had orange and the most lovely shade of blue, also yellow on our lakeside land in Maine, growing on boulders as big as houses. I do miss how things were back then. 😊🪴🌳😉
I love seeing tufts of moss and they do look starlike. Our dogwoods are covered in moss. Nice choice of descriptive word, Eliza!
Thank you, Steve!
The green really pops from the gray bark and wintry background. I like how it is spaced out too!
Thank you, Denise! It was a good winter for moss.
