I’m joining Cathy at Words and Herbs blog for her second annual Week of Flowers, where we share daily posts of flowers and gardens to give a dose of cheer to those in northern climes, where the short days this time of year are often dark and dreary. It does my heart good to look back to the green and flowery profusion of the summer months. Open to all, feel free to join in by clicking the link above, or simply to see links to what others are sharing.

Glorious!
Thank you, Dee!
Simply super – so dark and miserable here. I needed that!
Thank you, Cathy. Glad to oblige! 😉
As I read this the sun came through the morning mist! Not sure it will stick around, so your sunflower is a nice alternative. 😃 Thanks Eliza.
🙂 Thank you again for hosting, Cathy. A bit of SUNshine on a SUNday! 😉
I love sunflowers.
They are so cheerful in a garden (or anywhere!) and are a wonderful bee magnet.
Oh, I love the green middle!
Thank you, Allison!
Happiness is…busy Bumbles! What a unique Sunflower. Amazing what our Earth grows. 🌻
Yes, indeed… thanks, Alice. 🙂
It is still dark here and looking at this cheerful flower is like looking at a beautiful sunrise. 🙂
Thank you, Alys… a lovely thought! x
Ah, summer at its best. 🙂
I can almost hear the lazy drone of bees…
❤️ 🌻 ❤️
🙂 Thanks, Donna!

Sunflowers are my favourites! Beautiful pic, Eliza.
Thank you, Dale! 🙂
I only managed one sunflower this year that I grew from seed – all the rest got eaten by the S&S I imagine. And it only managed to flower in September! I shall try again next year and hope to do better.
Those dreadful mollusks! They and rabbits managed to decimate my first sowing. I’m hoping this coming spring I have better luck.
I think I will try mine in a container!
Sunny reflections, perfect for today, even gloomy here. Overcast and raining.
Thanks, Amy. Had to share at least one sunflower this week. They are so cheering. 🙂
I agree. Nothing better for cheerfulness.
Ah, summer! And the colors in that!
Hi Lisa! So nice to see your comment… hope you are doing well. Happy holidays!
Same to you Eliza! I’m posting soon, so my long silence will be somewhat explained…
Sunflowers, so cheerful! And so popular with bees! Lovely photo.
Thank you kindly, Sel!
Plenty for all! Wonderful photo, Eliza 😊
Thank you, Belinda! We can learn from the bees, and other animals. No scarcity mentality there. 🙂
Such a lovely glimpse of Summer Eliza, it was a real treat to see so many bees 🌻💛🐝
Thank you, Xenia. We’re fortunate to have a good amount of bumblebees in the garden. I just love them!
Busy bees! I’m already looking forward to next year’s sunflowers. I received 4 packets of seeds by mail just yesterday 😉
I just love to see and hear bees in the garden. Mine have long since gone to bed… I look forward to seeing the queens emerge in spring.
What a great idea! It’s so much fun seeing floral beauty again, now that Mother Nature has dressed herself in drab!
Thank you, Debbie. This meme is a shot in the arm this time of year!
Gorgeous 🌻
Thank you, Karina!
Really like this one. I can almost hear the buzzing.
Thank you, Laurie!
Sixteen more days and the days will start getting longer again, then won’t spring flowers be next?
Oh, what a welcome thought! Thank you, Hien. 🙂
Eliza, I’m smitten with all those bees on your over-the-top sunflower. Thanks for sharing this slice of summer cheer.
Thank you, Alys. They certainly are crazy over sunflowers. 🙂
I can hear them buzzing! Beautiful, vivid colors!
Thank you, Barbara!
It’s a wonder the bees don’t get dizzy navigating that mesmerizing center. Lovely photo Eiliza.
Thank you, Susie. Bumbles and others sure do love sunflowers. 🙂
Nothing sunnier than a sunflower!
Thank you, I must agree! 🙂
