Beautiful Eliza, what jewels you have!
Thank you, Maria!
Wow! Gorgeous Hosta.
Thank you, Amelia. It has the deepest purple flowers I’ve yet seen atop strong foliage. One of my favorites as it is a bit slug resistant, too, of which I am plagued. 😉
Pretty! Plant hangers are a great invention….more possibilities for even more flowers and for windchimes. I have Shepherds hooks on each side of the deck stairs & a smaller Shepherd’s hook on the last post…deckrail planters are a great way to plant & have trailing plants.
So true – thanks, Alice!
Ah I love pictures like that giving us a glimpse into your world.
🙂 Thanks, Alison.
Pretty! And I bet you spend as much time out there as we do on our patio.
Thank you, Laurie. We really do – all three meals, weather permitting!
Yay!!!!
Nice color combination!
Thank you, Peter. I try to get red/coral/orange hangers for the hummingbirds. The swallowtails like them, too. 🙂
Are the red hanging flowers petunias? So lovely.
Thank you, they are Calibrachoa – they look like mini-petunias. Common name is Million Bells.
They are really pretty! I especially love red flowers since they atttact hummingbirds. Are they annuals?
Yes, I buy 4″ pots of them in spring and plant them in the hangers. They fill out quickly and will bloom until frost. The pollinators love them!
So very pretty and colorful
Thank you, Luda!
I have never tried hostas because of the slugs but this one makes.me think I should try. I also saw some lovely ones at Picton Castle too.
The thick, big-leaved ones have a good chance here. There is some nibbling, but not the total Swiss cheese that happens with the more tender ones. H. sieboldiana is the best.
I will look out for it. Many thanks Eliza.
My pleasure!
Do you have a deer problem? They ate all of our hostas. The plants kept getting smaller each year and finally disappeared.
Deer are starting to encroach on the garden edges and nailed some hosta by the driveway/road. I put dog fur amongst the rest and it seems to be working, fingers crossed. One would think with the 100s of acres of woods around us, they’d leave my garden alone, but some plants are irresistible, I guess.
A bit of country paradise! 🙂 Those Hosta flowers are huge!!
Thank you, Joanna! It puts on quite the show.
Very pretty! I love that cute little birdhouse in the background.
Thank you, Indie! My sister painted the birdhouse and gave it as a gift one Christmas. We’ve had wren nests in it twice, but this year they chose the house by the garden.
Your hosta flowers are beautiful!🙂
Thank you!
Very pretty flowers! You have the best garden. I really do need you to come to my house to get me started.
Thank you very much!
Wouldn’t that be fun? If only you lived closer, I love designing gardens. 🙂
If only…..
Such a lovely lush space!
Thank you, Belinda. With all the rain last week, it does feel lush indeed!
I’d be happy if I could just get hosta foliage to grow, never mind the pretty flowers!
They like their moisture, that’s for sure. 🙂
Beautiful
Thank you, Akriti!
Your garden photos are so peaceful. Thank you for sharing your serene piece of heaven.
My pleasure, thank you, Maria. ❤
So still and peaceful. 🙂
Thank you, it’s what I love best about living here. 🙂
Just lovely.
Thank you, Fi. Drinking in the summer vibe!
Soak it all in!
Yes, indeed. With the arrival of the goldenrod, I know we’re on the slippery slope to fall. 😉
Your hostas look beautiful! Ours are suffering this year – I think it’s the unusual heat.
Thank you, Sarah. This one has the best flowers, a deep purple. The hummers love them!
Wonderful, especially the prolific hosta blooms!
Thank you, Peter! It is a great performer, for sure.
