Looks delicious! (Not the spider!)
Yes! 🙂
I saw a perfect spider web the other morning when I was running with my dog. It was dark, but my headlamp allowed me to see the beautiful strands. Everything felt right with the world at that moment 🙂
So wonderful – Their webs are a lovely thing to behold! Spider speaks to our creative self and the infinite possiblities of our creation.
what an amazing spider, so beautiful and their webs are always a joy to behold….nice berries too, yummy…..
Yes, she is a visual treat. I try to pick around her, respecting her space. 🙂
I know what you mean, I finally had to knock a nest down in the lanai…she was taking over and walking into it was happening too frequently…sadly, she jumped in to the water and I could not rescue the maiden🕷
Aw, too bad. I don’t like walking into webs, as I frequently do on our forest trail. You can’t see them, then you feel that sticky-icky web – but it must be worse for the spider!
I accidentally did the same – walked into her web, she fell and a gecko ate her before I could do anything! A new spider took her place though – wasn’t long 😉
Nature doing her thing. 🙂
The circle of life😊My dog chases and tries to eat the geckos….gets one now and then too😦
Everything is food… sooner or later. 😉
I am doing the same with a similar, if not identical spider out in my garden shed. I even put up a new hanger to hold beach chairs so as not to keep disturbing her web when I pull them down. 🙂
That is kind of you! I love the service they provide.
A handsome spider and great shots!
Thank you, Peter!
Beautiful pictures! Have a great day!
Thanks and the same to you!
What a beautiful place to make a web!
Yes, there is a lot of activity here. 🙂
Nice looking raspberries, my favourite!
Thanks, Christina. I love berries of all kinds!
I’ve been seeing a lot of spiders. I wonder what it means. Any ideas?
Many spiders breed in the fall, lay eggs, then die (remember Charlotte? 🙂 ) so you might be seeing them more as this is their ‘active’ time. Most of the summer they just eat, grow and hide out.
Spiritually, Spider symbolizes the infinite possibilities of creation. She urges us to be creative and find new alternatives to shift old patterns that no longer work for us, as well as awareness of where we are entangled.
Arachne in mythology 😉
Crime and punishment!
Thank you!!! I LOVE what you wrote here, Eliza!!! 🙂
weaving Wednesday
🙂 You got it!
Guardian of the Raspberries. 🙂
Yes, she is!
A great shot! The spider knows those raspberries are going to tempt visitors.
Sadly, it’s mostly bees, but they are not averse to Japanese beetles, which I applaud!
Lovely shots. We saw the same species of spider on a flowering shrub a few weeks back. Their colouring is jewel like.
Thanks, Belinda. They are so attractive as spiders go. I need to keep an eye out for her egg sac to get a photo of it. I’m glad she is in the raspberries, as it will be protected this winter.
Reblogged this on Anita Dawes & Jaye Marie.
Thank you for reblogging!
It seems to be spider season. I am seeing them on all my favourite blogs. This one has such lovely colours:) And those raspberries look yum!
She is our biggest spider and a sweetheart with no nasty bites, not that I’d test that out! And yes, a good year for raspberries!
Love it Eliza 💕
Thank you, Val. Nature’s art. 🙂
Great photo, Eliza!
Thank you, Anca!
Oh, love this!
Thank you!
Lovely. The rasberries looks yummy…
Thanks, they are particularly delicious and plentiful this year!
Nice! I don’t think you could compose a better photo. The spider obliged by spinning in just the right spot and the raspberries ripened on just the right day, and you angled just right to have the web catch the light. Perfect!
Thank you so much for that fine observation and appreciation! 🙂
Spider and raspberries–a perfect September combo. Happy Equinox.
Thanks, Brenda. Can’t be September without them!
Happy Equinox to you, too. Time to ’embrace the Dark Side!’ 😉
Absolutely stunning shots Eliza. That spider!
Thank you, Sylvia!
Frankenstein! That’s what I used to call these spiders when I was little. I love that you captured the zig in the web!
Ha, funny! I love their ‘signatures!’
Garden spiders terrify me (I know they aren’t going to do anything to me, but still…so big and scary looking!). The other day, I went to pick some tomatoes, and stuck my hand right in a garden spider web. It was the stuff of nightmares in my world.
In related news, I haven’t been down to the garden for tomatoes since.
LOL – sorry, arachnophobia is a tough one. Hopefully, Paul is okay with collecting the tomatoes… 🙂
YUM!
Raspberries are yummy, indeed. 🙂 ‘Heritage’ is a great fall-bearing hybrid.
Sounds good to me. What soil is needed?
Average, well-drained. A little bonemeal and compost is good. Space them 3′ apart, they’ll fill in. We’re always thinning them out. Everyone we know has been given our thinnings!
Is this an orb spider, Eliza? She’s very pretty, isn’t she?
Yes, she is!
Great images Eliza, these are garden spiders, aren’t they?
Yes, they are! Thanks, Maria.
Outstanding!!!
Thank you, Laurie. Hope all is well at the LHITBW!
Except for colds, all is well. Had a wonderful week with my daughters and was hardly online at all. Now, I’m playing catch-up before the cold gets worse 😉
Get well soon!
Looks to me like you’ve illustrated our experience of choice, huh?
She was quite calm as we picked around her. I kept forgetting that she was there!
