Today, I stuffed my kitty-in-the-garden pocket vase full of posies to mirror those painted on the vase.
Pollen-heavy Japanese anemone (Anemone x hybrida), a few stems of second flush foxglove (Digitalis purpurea), pink cranesbill (Geranium x hybrida), white gooseneck loosestrife (Lysimachia clethroides), purple anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum), Verbena bonariensis, golden bronze-fennel blooms (Foeniculum vulgare ‘Purpureum’), pink flowering tobacco (Nicotiana alata) and love-in-a-mist seed pods (Nigella damascena).

Anemones already? How splendid! and more bronze fennel bloom.
Late summer is here and the bronze fennel keeps on coming, close to six feet tall now. It is covered with lesser bees, wasps and flies, pollinators uncommon in the rest of the flowers.
The colors and shapes match the vase perfectly. Way to go !
Thank you, Julie!
Love! You’re so clever, Eliza.🙂😍
Thank you very much, Jane! 💕
Nicely done!
Thank you, Monika!
Beautiful! My anyone is just beginning to open its blooms.
Thank you, Dawn. The small bumblebees really love these flowers!
Love the flowers and the kitty.
Thank you, Rupali!
So that’s why cats always hang around in the gardens Eliza, lovely smells and colours everywhere. Who said they don’t have class 🤣❤️🙏
🙂 Thanks, Mark. All the better if there is a catnip plant. 😉
Beautiful
Merci!
Such a lovely combination, Eliza… perfect!
Thank you, J&A!
What a lovely idea for a beautiful arrangement!
Thank you, Anne! 🌸
Oh my! That is indeed very pretty and so very whimsical!
Thank you, Dale. Flowers and cats, two of my favorite things. 🙂
And here, especially, they go together so well1
A beautiful spot for a kitty to hide. 😉
Thanks, Pepper. 🙂
Gorgeous! I love those anemones!
Thank you, Merilee!
So cute! Your vase is adorable and I love how you matched those pretty blooms.
Thank you, K!
I just learned about love-in-a-mist seed heads in Chris’s blog, so I recognized their inclusion in your arrangement. It’s a wonderful replication of the flowers on the vase; I’m wondering if the lace table covering is an heirloom.
Thank you, Linda. While the lace runner might quality as an heirloom (being probably 40 years old), it is just a cheap department store buy. But thank you for thinking it noteworthy! 🙂
Love 💕 this and the delightful kitty kat vase 🤗🤩😎😍❤️🐾🌿💚💜💖
Thank you, Susan!
absolutely GORGEOUS! Japanese anemone is a favorite 💜🩷
Thank you, Catherine. JA flowers so abundantly and the bumbles just go crazy over it!
So lovely, Eliza! 😍
Thank you, Julie!

You picked the perfect vase for this beautiful assortment of flowers!
Thank you, Belinda!
Such a lovely bouquet. I do like the colours. (Suzanne)
Merci, Suzanne!
Beautiful Eliza! The vase is such a great conversation piece. You’ve matched the colours and flowers really well!
Thanks, Chris. It is such a fun vase. 🙂
Perfect!
Thanks! 🙂
I really like this combination, Eliza – you have chosen some great companions 👍 The agastache in my vase from last week still look as fresh as ever…what stars they have proved to be!
Thanks, Cathy. Agastache are surprisingly long-lasting, and will dry for winter bouquets as well.
I was just looking at my leftover agastache and thinking the same – I like it even more!
Wonderful colors, does the kitty like it? You are making me want to grow Nigella. I love the pods. Really pretty Anemones.
Thank you, Amy. Luckily, my kitty isn’t all that interested in flowers, but perhaps because I give her wheat grass to chomp on. 🙂 I will send you Nigella seeds to try this fall. Been thinking about you, hope the weather isn’t too oppressive. Bet you’re counting the days until October.
Aww, what a sweet arrangement to echo the kitty! Like Tony, I’m surprised that you already have Japanese anemones in bloom, and bountiful too. I’m afraid mine will be seared to a crisp before they ever make it to the bloom stage this year.
Thank you, Kris. My patch of anemones has grown exponentially. I need to divide them!
like the kitty plate with flowers 💐
Thanks!
Love flowers 💐 & Cats
🌸😻🌸
Absolutely love kitty….and those flowers are so dreamy….foxglove, anemone, agastache and so many more.
Thank you, Donna!
So many lovely things in your pretty vase Eliza. The colours of summer still going strong, and foxgloves still too. Wonderful!
Thank you, Cathy. With the shorter days and the cooler nights, I imagine that is going to change all too soon, alas. 😢
So beautiful, Eliza! I especially like the last shot where it looks like the kitty is looking up at us through the beauty of the flowers. 🙂
Thank you, Robin. I love the idea of seeing a kitty’s face among flowers in a garden. It’s been many years since I had outdoor cats, only indoors for my sweet Annie now.
Absolutely perfect! Wonderful matches. And any vase that features a kitty just enhances the arrangement.
Thank you, Laurie. We do love our kitties! 😻
Lovely arragements and images. The purple foxglove looks great with the cranesbill and Nigella pods. My japanese anemone is blooming now…
Thank you, Tom. Do the bees go crazy over your anemones, too? They sound like they are singing with joy!
Yes, there’s a quite a buzz around them and around the wood asters that are blooming now.
Beautiful selection of flowers to fill the special vase. The foxglove especially grab my heart.
Thank you, Susie. One of my favorites. 🙂
Wow Eliza you added a beautiful mix to your cute kitten vase. I Love it!
Thank you, Eunice!
