Is this a common wildflower? Can’t decide if I’ve seen it before. 🪻
Yes, it often grows up to 4′ near rivers and ponds in gravel soil. I bet Wachusett meadow has it. Blue Vervain, Verbena hastata.
I’m going to keep an eye out

Another very pretty Verbena…in a way it doesn’t surprise me…I have self-seeded Verbena b. coming up between brick, in many pots, between bluestones…just wants to show its flowers everywhere! & Butterflies, Bumbles & Hummies love it.

Yes, we played tourist for a few hours, lunch and a walk on the Bridge of Flowers. It reopened this year after its facelift (closed all last summer) and while the bushes and perennials are small, there are lots of annuals and dahlias to fill in.

That’s a feisty little plant Eliza! We usually have Verbena bonariensis popping up in odd places here, but I can’t get Verbena hastata establsihed for some reason!
