I made two arrangements this week and couldn’t decide which one to post, so I’ll share both!
In the frosted fern vase, there are spikes of Chinese astilbe (Astilbe chinensis var. tacquettii), coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), love-in-a-mist (Nigella damascena), flowering tobacco (Nicotiana alata), anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) zebra mallow (Malva sylvestris ‘Zebrina’), Calamintha grandiflora and Achillea ptarmica ‘The Pearl.’
The second is various yellows in a blue vase:
Racemes of deliciously fragrant Ligularia dentata ‘The Rocket’ accompany gloriosa daisies (Rudbeckia hirta), Zinnia elegans ‘Envy’ and flower/seed heads of dill (Anethum graveolens) and bronze fennel (Foeniculum vulgare purpureum).

It looks like flowering tobacco was labeled as Cleome hassleriana in the first vase. I see no Cleome in there, but it is quite a mix. I think I asked before, but is bronze fennel reliably perennial? How many years have you grown it?
Good catch, thanks, Tony. All fixed. 🙂 I think the bronze fennel self-sows, like dill, once planted will keep returning.
I am not sure if that is good or bad. I want the bronze fennel to survive because it was a gift, but I do not want it to proliferate. I suppose that even if it self sows, it will be easy to control.
Exactly, I just pull out what I don’t want (or transplant it).

Aaah, how lovely! The first one is so romantic and dreamy – love the Astilbe and the Achillea. And the second is summery without being too ‘hot’! The pale yellowy green zinnias look so pretty. And I love the Ligularia! All your cool and damp weather earlier in the year paid off and you are reaping the beauty! 😄

The frosted glass vase is beautiful; what are the little white fluffy flowers included in that bouquet? The stunner’s that yellow-in-cobalt vase, though. So many shades of yellow combined with the blue fairly shout “Van Gogh!”

I love the soft colours of the first one Eliza – those fluffy astilbe plumes are gorgeous! But then, my goodness, it was a like a slap in the face to see your second vase, which is almost brighter than bright! Amazing!
