They were so fun to hear, ‘ka-dunking’ away!
The bog looks full of life!
Indeed it is. I esp. loved seeing whirligig beetles and hearing the frogs calling. 🙂
I haven’t seen a frog in years! My garden is in a rather dry place with no natural wetland nearby.
I would miss seeing/hearing frogs, they are pretty cool. I know a pond that has bullfrogs, their call is SOOOO DEEP!

I feel cooler just looking at that! It’s been such a hot dry summer here.
Bogs are so interesting and full of wildlife. Do you get carnivorous plants in yours? We have species like butterwort and sundew in UK bogs and mires.
This bog has Sarracenia purpurea. Lots of cool plants there! And this day frogs and birds were calling. Luckily, few bugs!

So necessary. We had a bog dry up at the side of our long driveway before we left Maine. Everything to do with climate change. It made us sad. We used to hear the peepers at night. I know when the girls were in primary school studying science things, they would go up and put frog eggs in a jar. Those were the good old days.
Though we are technically in a stage 2 drought, thankfully we’ve had enough rain to keep this bog wet.
