I’m joining Cathy at Words and Herbs blog for her second annual Week of Flowers, where we share daily posts of flowers and gardens to give a dose of cheer to those in northern climes, where the short days this time of year are often dark and dreary. It does my heart good to look back to the green and flowery profusion of the summer months. Open to all, feel free to join in by clicking the link above, or simply to see links to what others are sharing.

Summery! I love the pale yellow day lilies.
Thank you– it’s nice to view these images and remember the lovely summery days. 🙂
Great idea to revisit summer as we approach the darkest weeks of the year.
Thank you, Audrey! 🙂
What an excellent idea to showcase flowers from the past season. This section of your garden looks very pretty.
Thank you, Anne. We’re rather starved for color here in the north. 🙂
😀
Thanks, Rupali!
It is so lovely to see your garden again Eliza! I missed it this summer. It looks as lush and lovely as ever. 😃 At this time of year it is hard to believe our gardens are still there, ready to show up again next summer. Thanks for joining in!
Thank you, Cathy. The contrast between the dormancy now and this pic is amazing, like a whole other world.
A lovely memory of what was as well as what will be.
Thanks, Laurie, we will leap frog there in no time! 🙂
What a super border Eliza! Particularly that pale yellow hemerocallis and the echinacea. Yes – encouragement that these good things are around the corner!
Thank you, Cathy. The one good thing I can say about time going faster these days. 😉
Pretty, pretty, pretty and definitely appreciated on these frosty, dark days.
Thank you, Judy! These gray days get old fast. 🙂

What a great idea. Winter has arrived here with a vengeance, we need all the colour and cheer we can get!

Glad you liked it, MJ!
A lovingly tended garden, that will bloom, again.
Thanks, Alice. It will look a bit different next year, as I made quite a few changes in Sept./Oct. Mixing it up!
This will be nostalgic and fun. Looking forward to seeing all your wonderful pics to take me back to summery days on these gray cold days.
Thank you, Dee. I love the idea, too. Brightness just when we need it. 🙂
Exactly!!!!!
Wonderful idea and beautiful photo – thank you
Thank you, Ellen!
Good timing!
Thanks, Hien!
What a wonderful idea. And lovely first pic for the week!
Thank you, Dale! x
Ah, summer memories! I can almost feel the sunshine’s warmth. Lovely garden, Eliza.
Thank you, Barbara! We do love our summers. 🙂
A good reminder that displays like that lie ahead!
Indeed… it’ll come round again!
What a lovely idea, reminder of longer warmer days🙂
Yes, the memories will warm us!
With any luck, we’ll get some gray, cold days before Christmas. I noticed just today that the bedding pansies, cyclamen, and snapdragons are going in around town — what a difference! Have you had snow yet? You might have said, and I either missed it or forgot. Those pale yellow lilies are gorgeous.
Thank you, Linda. I never wish for cold, gray days, but I can imagine you might however. 🙂 We’ve had a dusting of snow, but nothing lasting. The ground needs to freeze first and that usually happens around mid-Dec. most years. Snow falling after that usually lasts until March, but our winters are getting warmer, so melting occurs along with the arrival of new snow. I enjoy the milder winters naturally!
Love this 💕
Thank you, Val! x
Can’t believe it’s December as it feels like I was just enjoying your beautiful flowers!🙂
IKR? To go from bare ground in spring to this in a few short months and back to bare ground in another few is nothing short of miraculous. 🙂
A great idea, and beautiful Day One of summer flowers!
Thank you, Donna! ❤
So rich and luscious.
Thank you, Susie. Our gardens mightily enrich our lives. 🙂
I agree, so nice to revisit scenes like these!
Thank you, Belinda. The contrast between then and now is astonishing!
With the winds whipping here and a threat of heavy snow next Wednesday your garden will be missed as bad as mine.
Yes, I miss the flowers, esp. in vases in the house, but the downtime is kind of nice, too. 🙂
Until we push snow around lol
True! 😀
Thank you for the beautiful splash of brightness on the cold, grey and very wet day here in Northern England.
My pleasure, Jill. I am glad Cathy presented this meme, as these dark days leave us starved for colorful flowers. Thanks for your visit!
Aren’t those flowers beautiful! I simply love them ❤
Thank you, glad you do!
You’re welcome, dear
