Beautiful color of the berries Eliza 🌸
Thank you, Karen. Not a common color for up north – almost tropical!
The berries bring a special touch of color to the photo… love it!
Thank you, Louise!
Ah, I love the colour of berries.
Thanks, Rupali.
Lovely combination Eliza, your climate really provided some amazing autumn colour.
Thank you, Christina. Autumn is amazing in New England. Even after all these years, it still astounds!
The colour of the berries is striking – almost artificial, like clusters of beads.
Yes, very bead-like – I love the unusual color.
Great backdrop for your beautyberry–it really makes the fall colors pop.
Eye-popping for sure – thanks, Marian!
Spiraea Vanhouttei Bridal Wreath 🙂 I love the way this one turns yellow and dark purple.
What colours!!!!
Indeed. 🙂
Colourful and pretty ♥
Thank you, Summer!
The purple colour is so beautiful – it pushes the boundaries of what we think of as natural, like the bright blue of some gentians or meconopsis. I wonder if it makes birds and other creatures more or less likely to eat them? The berries do stand out against the foliage better than red ones would.
According to wildlife sources, this native is popular with a great number of birds and mammals. Most berries in my yard don’t make it past December, so I can attest to that!
That is a lovely photo. 🙂
Thank you, Judy. It shouts, “Fall” to me. 🙂
Yes, yes! You’ve captured autumn.
🙂 Thank you!
Gorgeous colors!
Thank you, Stephanie!
Lovely autumn colors!
Thank you, Nataly!
Whoa! Those are vibrant!
They are indeed. 🙂
Striking colour. What’s the berry?
Callicarpa americana – American Beautyberry.
I love those Callicarpa berries. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen the plants for sale here even though some species should tolerate our conditions.
They are something, aren’t they? We are at the northernmost point of their range. I think of them as being more from the Southeast US. But now that I look the genus up, there are a ton from Asia and tropics. I wonder if you could mail order from a nursery?
The colour of these berries are amazing! Wonderful!
Thank you, Pete. It is American Beautyberry – Callicarpus.
Lovely colours – great photo
Thank you, Diana.
The picture is beautiful. Never been sure about the purple berries, but it is growing on me since I’ve seen it in such great combinations.
Thank you, Allison. The colour is rather lurid, but like the chartreuse/pink combo of certain spireas, it does grow on you.
So pretty and colorful
Thank you, Juan.
How fun, including the colors in the background! Reminds me of popsicles.
Yes, popsicles or sugar-coated candy. 🙂
yes!
Beauty berry! Always a stunner. It is not quite hardy here boo hoo.
Mine dies to the ground every year, but manages to come back, at least so far. 😉
Such a pretty pink pop!
Yes, it is quite bright. Thanks, Fi!
è sempre emozionante guardare lo spettacolo dei colori dellautunno
complimenti, splendide foto
Grazie!
That is an impressive magenta! 😀
Indeed! 🙂
Lovely and yet I can never really like this shrub it always looks as if its colour has been tampered with.
Ha, I know what you mean. It is very tropical looking, or as another commenter said, like candy.
