💛Love!💛
Thank you, Jane. Hope you’re having a good summer! 🧡🌞
❣️ Happy August Eliza!
Thank you, Cathy! We’re on the downslope now. 😉
Lovely!
Thank you, Rupali!
They are beautiful big yellow sunshine’s, I love them Eliza 🤣❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark!
Delightful close-up, Eliza
Thank you, Sheree!
A gorgeous capture Eliza! 💛🌻 xxx
Thank you, Xenia! 🧡
Such a cheerful bloom!
Who doesn’t love a sunflower? 🙂 💛
A sunny flower for Sunday.
Thanks, yes, indeed!
My wee ones are just opening too many squirrels for them to last long though 🙂
Yes, the goldfinches have discovered mine, as intended. 👍🏼
Perfect!
I’ve never seen anything like the blue center and russet ring that make the center of this sunflower so striking. Is the blue a reflection of the sky? Is this a cultivar? an oddity? Whatever the explanation, it’s gorgeous. If it’s quite natural, I need to start looking at our H. annuus more closely!
Thanks, Linda. Yes, I think it is the sky reflected in the shiny black buds.
Sunflower…such a perfect name for a grand, glorious, flower.
Yes, I agree. Summer in a flower. 🙂
Stunning! 💛💛💛
Thanks!
Such a cool close-up. The center looks as though it has many, many eyes.
Thanks, those are the ‘true’ flowers, soon to be birdseed!
Yes, yes!
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻😎🙌🏼🤩🥳
Thanks, Susan!
Yay! Bring on the finches!
They are already feasting! 🐤
One cannot go wrong with sunflowers. I’m intrigued by the blue in the centre of this one though.
Thanks, Anne. I think it is the sky reflecting off of shiny black.
Nice shot, Eliza! That blue is fetching. Is it a play of light or really blue?
Thank you, Tina. I’d guess a play of light tricking the camera.
I love these understated flowers.
Thank you, Bela. Beauty and purpose in one package.
A shared theme for this Sunday 😊. Lovely shot!
Thank you, Belinda. THE flower of summer!
How lovely. I failed to set any sunflowers this year – ran out of time. Must try harder next year
Thank you, Karina. Can’t imagine a summer garden without a few in the background. 🙂 Plus the birds are happy for the seeds.
Such a lovely image, Eliza. And to imagine that the seeds are arranged according to the Fibonacci sequence! It boggles the mind.
Thank you, Tanja. Nature truly amazes!
Always and forever!
Spectacular! 🌻
Thank you, Flavia!
They’re always so impressive! I seeded mine late and so far there’s just one hedging ever forward, slowly getting bigger…
They are delightful flowers!
The goldfinches will start pecking at it soon! Love the crop and sunny appearance…
Thank you, Tom. So far the goldfinches seem more interested in the anise hyssop and woodland sunflowers, thankfully. 🙂
The petals have such an amazing texture, hard to see with the eye normally, but this photo really captures this so well. Bravo!
Thank you very much! 💕
Love the close up details, and that bit of purply blue in the center. 🌻
Thank you, Barbara!
They are such happy flowers – but also I usually feel just a touch of sadness, as they seem to announce the later days of summer rolling in.
Thank you, K. As you are a teacher, I can understand that!
Have you ever counted the number of spirals going clockwise and counter-clockwise within the central disc to confirm that you get consecutive Fibonacci numbers?
Never! 😀
Then you might want to give it a shot. Here’s the gist of it.
Sunflowers 🌻 are my favourite!
Thanks, Karen. They are wonderful flowers!
