June blooms are passing and July’s are waiting in the wings. A last fond look at many flowers we won’t see until next year: Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’, daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare), Carolina lupine (Thermopsis villosa), sundrops (Oenothera fruticosa), Veronica ‘Crater Lake Blue’, hearts-ease (Viola tricolor) catmint (Nepeta racemosa), lamb’s ears (Stachys byzantina). Two newly blooming zinnias introduce us to July (Z. elegans ‘Envy’ and Z. marylandica ‘Zahara’ Salmon.

There is certainly a lot going on there. I see the Carolina lupine again. Lamb’s ear are and interesting addition.
Thanks, Tony. Lots in the garden to choose from. 🙂
Beautiful.
Thank you, Vipin
What an amazing variety. 👏
Thank you, Pepper. I find it hard to limit my selection to just a few… everything calls to me!
And that is exactly what beautiful flowers are supposed to do. 😁
Treat for eyes.
Thank you, Rupali! 🙂
A beautiful celebration of the changing seasons and the fleeting beauty of summer blooms. Your reflections encourage readers to cherish each flower’s moment while looking forward to the new blossoms that each season brings.
Thank you.
Such a gorgeous June mix. You picked the perfect vase.
Thanks, Maria. A milk jug of flowers, classic! 😉
And so beautiful 🙂
🙏🏼
Beautiful to see Eliza. Especially those total yellow flowers in the centre (Sundrops indeed). They glow 🤗❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark. 🙂
I enjoy the combination of colours 🙂
Thank you, Anne. 🙂
So fresh, colourful and summery, Eliza.
Thank you, Flavia!
You always bring us such joyful bouquets, Eliza. Love this!
Thank you, Dale! 🙂
Lovely colors…Sundrops are so cheerful…they keep spreading….little smiles everywhere.
Thanks, Alice. Sundrops do tend to spread, but thankfully are easily managed. 🙂
Lots of different blooms with such lovely colours. (Suzanne)
Thank you, Suzanne, a vibrant mix today!
I do love a mixed bouquet. The green flower fascinates me. Is that the ‘Envy’ zinnia?
Thanks, Linda. Yes, I started them in April, zinnias are so easy. 🙂
😍🤗💛🍃💚🙌🏼 ❤️
Thank you, Susan!
Hi Eliza. Absolutely gorgeous as usual. I have a couple of pots on the boat but they are struggling a bit in this awful heatwave we’ve been having in France. Plus we are back to Le Shack for a few weeks to escape yet another heatwave on the way, so sadly they’ll probably be dead by the time we come back! The cost of moving about. But at least I can enjoy yours!!!
MJ
Thanks, MJ. Sorry about the heat making things unbearable, for you and your plants. (Now I understand why some boat owners go artificial, ugh!) 😜 We’re due for a week of HOT temps, too. Welcome to July!
Wow that is a celebration of the change of seasons. So many happy flowers giving their all. I’m afraid with the extreme heat many will fade quickly. Time to cut early and enjoy.
Thanks, Donna. I enjoy my flowers inside where I can see them up close and frequently during the day. The heat is a happy excuse to cut more! 🙂
Agree.
You have lots of bright colors. I am paying attention for ideas. I must have planted my zinnias late, as I have no flowers yet.
Thanks, I expect this heat wave is going to boost the zinnias.
Gorgeous
Merci!
It’s a happy mix of colors, Eliza. I love the Geum in particular but I’ve yet to get it to survive long in my garden.
Thanks, Kris. Yeah, Geum seems to evenly moist soil and not too hot. I’ve lost a couple myself. 😉
Yours is a very summery display. I think that white pitcher/vase really sets off the look! Nice job!
Many thanks, Tina!
Such a beautiful display to start the week Eliza! 💛✨️ xxx
Farewell to the June beauties!
Lots more coming! 😉
That would make a beautiful painting! Love the colors. Fingers crossed I see a Envy!
Thank you, wish I had the talent for painting. 😉
Try it!
American Primitive! 😀
Another lovely arrangement! Nice to know that each month gives way to more beautiful flowers.
Thank you, Belinda. Running out of flowers is unthinkable, ha!
A wonderful summer party to see out the month of June! My zinnias have just started opening too but I don’t have a lovely lime green one like that. 😀
Thank you, Cathy! I will probably tire of ‘Envy’ but it should ‘go’ with just about any flower. 🙂
Beautiful Eliza! I have sundrops here as well but have never cut them – do they manage well in a vase?
Thanks, Chris! Sundrops are great in a vase, though like many multi-budded flowers will drop spent blooms onto the table. I get in the habit of picking them up whenever I walk by. 😉
Ooh, I haven’t used this stachys in a vase before – does it hold up well? Love that green zinnia! Your photo certainly suggests bright bright sunshine 👍
Thank you, Cathy. Stachys flowers last forever in a vase, I often reuse them when consolidating and freshening up older arrangements. Eventually, I end up throwing them out as they outlast everything else!
I am trying them in tomorrow’s vase, Eliza – thank you!
What a beautiful bouquet…so pretty.
Thank you, Monika! 🌸
So pretty
Many thanks, Eunice!
A beautiful summer variety of colors and blooms! Happy 4th!
Thank you, Denise!
Love the arrangements and the images of them. The flower that catches my eye is Oenothera fruticosa. I wish I had it nearby instead of the scrubby Oenothera biennis!
Thank you, Tom. If you ever are out this way, come by, I’ll fill your trunk! 😀
Beautiful. The latter part of June passed by so quickly – this is a pretty reminder.
Thanks, K. Let’s see what July brings!
