Thanks, Cathy. It was closed last year for a massive renovation with many volunteers ‘fostering’ plants the year it underwent repair. It was sorely missed, but now feels brand new. 🙂

Beautiful surprise to see a photo of that very special Bridge. We were there in August, too long ago. Friends used to live in Shelburne Falls. More towns…all towns, should have something similar, or a park with flowers, so people could enjoy.

What a lovely surprise to see a photo of that special, beautiful Bridge. We saw it in August, too long ago. Friends used to live in Shelburne Falls. All towns should have something similar, or a Park with native flowers, to inspire and educate and enjoy.
It was quite busy, I grabbed a quick shot when it was less crowded! People come from all over the world to see it, according to the guestbook.

My first year growing gifted red ones not dinner plate size but so many they are stunning and I have so many away.

I see that no toll is charged on the Bridge of Flowers. One statement on the website stood out: “The Water Commission and the Bridge of Flowers Committee prohibit the scattering of human and pet remains on the Bridge and in the entrance areas.” In contrast to that, I’m reminded of how, eight years ago, I released the ashes of an elderly friend of ours at the Garden in the Woods in Framingham.
Not something I would have thought of, but I suppose the bridge is very public and volunteers dig there all the time. Not the best place to spend eternity!
