A gorgeous place for a walk!
Yes, I love our old woodland roads. They offer great solace from the busy world. 🙂
And we sure need that from time to time.
A beautiful silent path 😊
Thank you, it is that. 🙂
So inviting!
Thank you, Cindy!
My kind of path. So beautiful!
Thank you, Dale! x
🙂 xo
I would love to walk along there with trees either side of me and their leaves crunching underfoot.
It is a lovely old road, we’re fortunate to have many like this in New England. Come visit! 🙂
Beautiful
Thank you, Karen. x
So beautiful and peaceful. ❤️
Thank you, John. I do love these old woodland roads.
You’re welcome. 😎
Oh yes, perfect walking conditions. Have fun!
Thank you! 🙂
Lovely!
Thank you, Rupali!

You’d be welcome anytime!
Good to know, and thank you, Eliza…
Reblogged this on NEW BLOG HERE >> https:/BOOKS.ESLARN-NET.DE.
Thank you for reblogging!
My pleasure, Eliza! xx Michael
An irresistible invitation for a nice long autumn walk!
Indeed! This one has lots of hickory trees, and if one times it right, lots of nuts to gather before the critters get the lot. 🙂
Beautiful. 😊
Thank you, Pepper!
Nice. I know I’d like a walk along that woodland path.
Thank you, Judy. NE has lots of these welcoming trails, lucky for us!
Nice leading line into the photo. So inviting.
Thank you, Debra!
You have some of the prettiest trails — and beautiful color.
Thank you, Linda. Lots of these picturesque old roads around here, many are kept open as fire access roads and by recreationers. Others are reclaimed by the forest.
Absolutely beautiful shot!
Thank you very much, Hien!
So beautiful!
Thank you, Kymber!
If you’re inviting me to come along, I’m there! 😊
Anytime! Our area has lots of these old roads. 🙂
Nothing better than the woods.
Agreed!
Beautiful sunlight! The two trees on the right are helping to celebrate the weekend with their ‘V’eterans.
Thanks, Alice!
Such a pretty woodland path!
Thank you, Laurie. I love these old roads, great for meandering on a nice day.
Peaceful! I could feel my blood pressure dropping just contemplating a stroll along that path.
Nice! Thanks much, Kris!
Very nice Eliza! Looks like a Great place to take a walk!
That it is… thanks, Reed!
Beautiful trail — so peaceful!
Thank you, Debbie!
What a lovely trail to follow!
Thank you, Belinda. It certainly is! 🙂
My favorite time to be in the woods with orange on though 🙂
Fall has been so nice this year. 🍁
Our gift after all of that heat 🙂 you may see snow Wednesday.
Such a beautiful photo and a wonderful road to enjoy the fall colors!🙂
Thank you! 🙂
The trees are so beautiful in the autumn/fall – and they are so tall and nave-like lining the trail.
Good analogy. I often say nature and woods are my church… a nave, a sacred space is just what it seems like.
That “hallway carpet” of fallen leaves just asks to be trodden.
It does indeed.
Do you know if that path has changed much since you photographed it, for instance by having a thicker carpet of leaves covering it?
That road is maintained by the state, adjacent to a nearby reservoir and providing access for fire vehicles. I don’t imagine it changes much.
Looks a bit like the walk I took yesterday – so nice to be reminded on a dark Tuesday evening Eliza! Woods in the autumn … nature doesn’t get much more thought-provoking
Thank you, Cathy, so glad it appealed to you. 🙂
Oh, the light on the trees in the distance, encouraging one to keep going. Resonates with me today. Lovely view and photography.
Thank you very much, Susie!
Speaking of tranquil places! I imagine this is an invitation to a lovely walk in the woods, perhaps some forest bathing sitting against the trunk of one of the trees?
Thank you, Maria. A damp morning, but the light streaming through the forest was wonderful. I love our woods and forest bathe there every day. 🍁
Just wonderful!
How inviting, Eliza. I can smell the leaves as I walk down this path. 🙂 🍁
Thank you, Jane. Autumn is a multi-sensual experience. 🙂
Would love to walk down that path
It is a lovely meander through a beautiful woodland. 🍁
What a beautiful place for an autumn walk! Great, inviting shot!
Thank you, Denise. We’re fortunate to have close by many such old roads to explore.
Nice! Is that the path you showed me?
Thanks! It’s over by the Whately Reservoir, off Roaring Brook.
