Beautiful. Nature at it’s best. ❤️
Thank you, John!
You’re welcome. ☺️
Color combinations don’t get more perfect than that. Great shot. 🙂
Thank you, Judy! They and theiir twittering is fine company in the garden.
Great capture, an attentive bird and fading flowers basking in the autumnal sunshine. ☀️
Thanks, Barbara, they are mad for the sunflower seeds, barely waiting for them to ripen!
We so rarely get to see one of these birds in their golden feathers. When they arrive here in the fall, they’ve turned or are turning ‘autumn drab.’ They certainly are beauties in those bright feathers.
The closest we come to canaries, and their twittering is lovely to hear as well.
A seed feast! American Sunfinch might be another good name.
Yes! 🙂
Mine are going nuts on them and Catbirds going crazy with Poke Weed 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you, Eunice. It’s the fall-frenzy!
Sure is, I planted so many grasses and natives I hope they leave a seed or two so they can get bigger and bigger 🙂 Have a great weekend.
Reblogged this on Anita Dawes and Jaye Marie.
Lovely capture, Eliza… colour co ordinated too!
Thank you, Anita, and for reblogging! x
You’re welcome, Eliza…
I love goldfinches so very much. Wonderful shot as always Eliza 🙂
Thank you, Sylvia!
A perfect pairing.
Thank you!
Wow! How nice of him to pose for you! Beauty!
Yes, he is a handsome fella! 🙂
Very!
Perfectly delightful moment in autumn, Eliza, thanks for sharing it.
Thank you, Jet!
They really can balance! Love Goldfinches!
They are such a cheerful sight and sound in the garden.
So nice of him to color coordinate!
IKR? 😀
Now that’s what I call a treat!
🙂 Thanks, Laurie, it sure is!
Talk about being in the right place at the right time! And having a camera in hand, to boot — nicely done, Eliza!
Thank you, Debbie! These sweeties are year round visitors to my garden and feeders in winter. Lovely neighbors!
How wonderful Eliza!
Thank you, Cindy! 🙂
Wonderful photo, Eliza😊
Thanks much, Belinda!
Super photo, Eliza. Goldfinches on golden sunflowers–what could be more summery?! 🌻
Thank you, Tanja. They sure brighten my day!
Mine as well. 🙂
So good 🌼🌻⭐️
Thanks, Karen! 🙂
Like one of the flowers themselves. Lovely catch, Eliza!
Thank you, Steve!
An avian flower—unique. Without you caption I almost could have missed the bird.
🙂 Thanks, Steve.
Cute lil bugger
🙂 Love hearing them call back and forth, too.
How lovely. Bit different to British goldfinches.
Yes, a bit smaller, too, I think. Thanks, Jill!
This is delightful, Eliza.
Thank you, Alys, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
The goldfinch is gorgeous! And all that yellow 🙂 So much happiness!
Thanks much! x
Wonderful capture!🙂 I’m not sure why, but we’ve never had so many goldfinch visiting as this summer.
Thank you, I find they are a bit nomadic here, with the biggest flocks in late fall and late winter. Who knows why?
Handsome fella! And a perfect combo in one shot! 💛🙌💛
Thank you, Donna!
Beautiful, Eliza… we’ve had cold winds and rain the past week, so this glimpse of summer comes at a perfect time 🙂
Thank you, the seasons are changing yet again. 🙂
Very different to our goldfinches, a very attractive bird.
I adore goldfinches. Love their “potato chip, potato chip” chatter. For some reason, we have more chickadees than goldfinches on our sunflowers this year, though.
I’ve never heard ‘potato chip’ referring to their call, but it suits. Our chickadees seem to be in decline. It may be due to the changes in forest composition around here. Plenty of blue jays, though.
What a wonderful capture!
Thank you!
What a beautiful bird – and as others have said the yellow of the sunflowers complements the bird perfectly.
Thank you, they are a match made in heaven. :)They have plucked most of the seeds off the heads already, sometimes before they are barely ripe.
Oh gosh … didn’t see it at first … blends right in! Great shot Eliza.
Thank you kindly!
What’s not to love! Great capture, Eliza!💛💛
Thank you, Jane! x
Pingback: Floral Friday – Goldfinch on Sunflower | Purplerays
I am quite familiar with this flower but not the yellow bird. So cute!
Thank you, they are year round residents here, one of the handful that do not go south for the winter. They tough out the wintry weather!
Watching goldfinches bounce on flowers is so entertaining!
It is, and I love their twittering back and forth, too.
Beautiful!
Thanks much!
