The Return of the Light

IMG_8096 At last, the northern hemisphere starts tilting back towards the sun. Slowly, a minute or two every day, day length increases. I hail and welcome the return of the Light!

My partner and I strolled down to the beach on the same evening as this post of yours to make sure we made the most of what, for us, in Australia is the longest day of the year. I wanted to take a photo of the sunset, but it was a very cloudy day and the sea and sky were grey and churning, so instead we sat on the sand and talked and watched our dog frolic in the water … still a nice way to pass the summer solstice. Season’s greetings to you, Eliza, and I hope the thought of the coming longer days cheers you.
