Spaces In between

This young poet’s spiritual poems are amazing. His words describe what for most of us is indescribable! (Is he Rumi reincarnated?!) I have a feeling his work is destined to become highly celebrated.

UN International Day of Happiness

UN International Day of Happiness

Spring blossoms, walking on a beautiful sunny day in fresh, clean air, sitting by a waterfall, laughing with a friend, hugs from loved ones or a cuddle with my sweet kitty make me so happy.
What makes you happy?

There is peace.

What a wonderful quote!

chasingkt's avatarTotal Zen

“If there is peace in your mind you will find peace with everybody. If your mind is agitated you will find agitation everywhere. So first find peace within and you will see this inner peace reflected everywhere else. You are this peace! You are happiness, find out. Where else will you find peace if not within you?”

Spring Bulb Show

Bulb Show

For two weeks every March, Smith College’s Lyman Conservatory in Northampton, Massachusetts hosts a spring bulb show. Two greenhouses are chock-full of forced narcissus, tulips and many types of miniature bulbs as well as branches of spring flowering shrubs such as forsythia, cherry and viburnum. All are tucked artfully together to create a riot of color. It is very well-attended and they receive thousands of visitors over the period the show runs. (It is not for the agoraphobic!) But for those who do choose to wade through the crowds, it is a balm for the winter-weary soul.

Brushpile: Wildlife Habitat

From YardMap‘s Facebook page:

Brushpile: Wildlife Habitat

We think this photo is beautiful! Why? It features a great component of wildlife habitat- a brushpile!

Do you have a brushpile in your backyard habitat? Show off your “really great brushpile” by entering YardMap’s Make My Backyard Birdier photo contest: http://content.yardmap.org/explore/birdier-backyard/

Here’s one of our brushpiles (we have at least five ‘official’ ones on our 7.5 acres), it measures approximately 30 x 20 feet:

The habitat in the background is wild; full of thickets that provide habitat for rabbits, small rodents and lots of birds, along with plenty of predators that feed on them. The open space is pollinator heaven, with wildflowers like goldenrod, heliopsis and jewelweed.
