My first love? Nature. I couldn’t live without my daily immersion, walking in the woods, visiting our waterfall or sitting by the river watching the birds going about their business. It is where I connect to the “peace which passes all understanding.” I have a degree in horticulture, tend too many gardens around my home and garden for a few clients. I blog… and love it, especially enjoying exchanges with this awesome blogging community.
I travelled a bit in my younger days, but like Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home.” So my life revolves around our little sanctuary of 7.5 acres, taking care of the gardens, house and family that fill my heart with gratitude and contentment. I feel truly blessed!

Being in Nature is such a healing balm to the senses. I can well understand why you love the country. I get very ‘down’ when I haven’t got a bit of green space around me in the inner city suburbs where I live. I’m totally envious of your having a river and waterfall.
Just trying to work out where you live what with being under snow at this time of year?
Massachusetts, US
We grew up in Billerica ❤
A fellow Baystater! We used to pass by that way en route to Maine to visit my sister. Except for a handful of years in Newton and Salem, I’ve lived mostly in western MA. I think it akin to Paradise. 😉
Amen I used to think Epping was as well but the rush from Beantown can be felt here now 😦
Hey, pleased to know you.!
Found a way here through someone’s blog. Your about page is interesting.
Love to know that you love nature too. There’s something very peaceful about it, the greenery, the waterfalls and walking barefoot on the grass is so very relaxing. 😀
Blessings.🌸
Thank you for your kind comment, Jannat. Nature is our lifeline!
Aww.😚
Pleasure is all mine.! 😊
I love nature too! Nice to meet you. I blog over on The Rocky Safari. http://www.therockysafari.com My blog is different but if you have an appreciation for the outdoors, you might connect with it haha. Happy to meet ya! Following your blog now 😀
Thank you, Rocky!
Hello, I’ve seen your comments on many of the blogs I follow and dropped in to meet you. I have a suburban garden after owning a 30 acre olive farm. Would love to read about your woods, river and waterfall, as I miss my farm. Jane.
Hi Jane, thanks for stopping by and introducing yourself. I love my land and can imagine how you’d miss yours. I’ll be returning the visit shortly. 🙂
Thanks Eliza, I’ll look forward to reading your posts.

Thanks for thinking of me, Mel! I’m worse than you about these things, though I appreciate the honor!
So lovely to meet you! Thanks for the visit. Your About page is great, and I love that quote the peace that surpasses all understanding. It’s a key directive for my life.
Blessings to you!
Thanks, Debbie!
You got it! I love that you spend a majority of time taking care of your grounds and family. You certainly do have a sanctuary of peace. Beautiful.
Hi Eliza. Great platform you have created here. I’m looking forward to learning about good nature gardening from this blog. Have a great week
Thank you kindly, Matilde!
Lovely to come across your blog, Eliza and I too find being immersed in nature a blessing, bringing so much peace and enjoyment. Wow! That is a large garden and I can imagine it keeps you very busy, happily so! 😀
Thank you for your visit, Annika. Glad to meet another nature lover. 🙂 Yes, the gardens keep me plenty busy in the growing season. I don’t mind dormancy because I need the rest!
I love nature too. Unfortunately, I live in a condo with no access to any garden. I satisfy my thirst by checking out Amy Rose’s blog and now yours. Thank you for sharing all the lovely pics.
Thank you. Glad to give you a little taste of nature, even digitally. 🙂
Greetings!!!

Hi Eliza
Hope you’re keeping well. I’m not sure whether you remember me, I used to blog at WaywardScribbles. But recently I’ve launched my new website. It would be great if you could visit and share your thoughts on it.

Hoping to see you around. Thank you!
Hi Eliza,
I’ve seen you on mutual blogs, so I’m popping in to say hello, and I look forward to reading more about you. I feel the same about nature and your 7.5 acres sounds amazing. My husband and I camp and backpack and it’s such a tranquil and awesome experience of being among nature where silence is welcomed, except for the birdsong and whispers of wind through the trees.
Take care, Lauren
What a beautiful comment, Lauren. Nice to meet a kindred soul!
Nice blog
Thank you!
Lovely to know you Eliza and what you write about your connection with nature totally resonates with me, I am also very grateful every single day to be able to enjoy to the full all the wealth of nature around me. You have a most lovely blog.
Thank you so very much, Agnes. I enjoy yours as well. 🙂
Hi Eliza, I’m Margarita: nice to meet you. Thank you for writing on my abandoned blog Margaritaexam141 about the sunflowers dedicated to Flower Week from our mutual friend Cathy from Words and Herbs. I also love nature and animals: you are privileged to have 7.5 acres with a waterfall, a river and a forest. You live in Paradise! Nature gives me life, I respect it and take care of it. I live in Spain, in a flat in Madrid and I have a country house 220 km away where I spend the summer until the end of September. This year due to Covid-19 I have not been able to go. And in 2019 I was only 3 days because we had to return to Madrid from the Emergency Department to admit my dear Father to the Hospital and 11 days later he passed away. It has affected me a lot and since then I have suffered a great depression, which has been aggravated by not being able to go to my country house this year and knowing that my garden will be all dry. Eliza excuse me for explaining myself so much. I want to tell you that I am going to follow your blog, but if I spend a week without writing on your blog, it is because depression has given me a slump and I have not picked up the computer, not for something else. Have a nice week. Very affectionate greetings from Margarita.
Thank you for writing, Margarita. I’m sorry to read of your travails this past year, particularly the loss of your father. Losing loved ones is always so hard– life and God often test us.
I hope the lockdown eases soon and you will be able to return to your country home. Time in nature is so essential.
Thank you for your words of encouragement Eliza. Until the month of June of next year I will not be able to reconnect with Nature in my country house if God wants, because they have confined us without leaving my area of Madrid as of tomorrow. And I have to go to the Hospital this week which is out of my area, but to go to the Doctor they let you go out with the appointment paper. Covid is in chaos. Very affectionate greetings from Margarita.
Hi Eliza, it seems you’re a realy busy blogger. Your website has been recommended by Martina.
Best wishes from Austria, Herbert.
Thank you for stopping by, Herbert. Much obliged!

Hi Eliza. I love nature and birds too. Also, I recognize your blog so I’ve definitely seen your writing before! WordPress certainly makes the world feel like a smaller place at times.
Thank you for sharing your passion for nature and your love for your home and family. It sounds like you have found a fulfilling way of life that brings you joy and peace. I’m sure your knowledge and experience in horticulture are invaluable in tending to your gardens and those of your clients. It’s wonderful that you have found a community through blogging, where you can connect with others who share your interests and passions.
Thank you, much appreciated. Nature is definitely my passion! 🙂
Eliza, I don’t think I’ve read your About Page before. I didn’t know you were a horticulturist. My father studied horticulture in England and later worked in India (Darjeeling) on a tea plantation many moons ago.
How interesting! Darjeeling is one of my favorite teas, matter of fact, I just drank a glass of it iced. 😉
That’s fun to hear! It’s a classic.
