IAVOM – Gladiolus Plus

In mid-June, I picked up a bag of half-price Gladiolus tubers thinking they’d be worth trying. So far, I’ve had a few bloom stalks and today’s vase features one of them. Also included: Dahlia ‘Chilson’s Pride’ and ‘Lemonade’, white, pink and purple spider flower (Cleome hassleriana), Zinnia elegans ‘Envy’, purple Verbena bonariensis and wild heart-leaved aster (Symphyotrichum cordifolium) as filler.

Thanks to Cathy at Rambling in the Garden who hosts the weekly garden meme In A Vase On Monday, featuring flowers from our gardens. Click the link to join the fun or see what others are sharing this week.

Gladioli are rad! They were some of the first flowers I grew when I was a kid. I also purchased the inexpensive corms.

Stunning. Seems like a good time of year for your garden.

  3. Whenever I come across a bunch of gladioli in the store, it’s hard to resist. They are so elegant and uplifting. They also pair well with the assorted flowers you added.
