It is a wonderful small world. Is the golden stuff fungi or more lichen? So many textures…
Thank you, Barbara. A mix of lichen and orange fungi. 🙂
Truly handsome, and no two specimens seem to be alike.
Thank you, Judy. The reason for my endless fascination!
Nature never ceases to amaze me! Especially the colors…….
Lots of treasures on the ground after that windy day!
What a beautiful capture and interesting find…especially if one looks up about lichens.

You’re welcome, Eliza. ❤️
Lichen has been busy on that branch! Not much space left 🙂
IKR? What an awesome colony. I often wonder what happens to them when they are on deadfall like this. Back to the earth?
It looks like a work of art.
Nature is my favorite artist! 🙂
Lichens are fascinating and these are beautiful
Thank you, Karina!
I love the texture and various colours of lichen, add a dusting of snow to top it off. Lovely photo!
Thank you very much, Belinda!
The combination of colors is especially pleasing. You do such a good job of photographing them. I found some moss or algae blooming today, but didn’t manage a single decent photo — even my macro lens had trouble with them!
Thank you, Linda, much appreciated!
Lovely layers. 😊
Thank you, Pepper!
Another fabulous discovery and you would be a wonderful walking partner enjoying to stop at all the small wonders!!🙂

Thank you, Donna!
Plenty of patterns in this plant community.
True that! Thanks, Susan. 🙂
Cool, the fungi are turkey tails I believe. Or a look alike. And various lichens. Good find.
Thank you, I was quite mesmerized by it!
The one on the left is truly the “star” of the lichen review. 🙂
Thanks, Steve. That one was my favorite. 🙂
