Drops of sunshine
Yes, they’re so cheerful in the garden right now. 🙂

🙂 I hadn’t thought of that, but I can see that now!
Our version is Berlandier’s Sundrops (Oenotheran berlandieri), which has a noticeable black stigma. They’re beautiful flowers, and well named, although I have to travel a bit west to find them.
I looked up yours and the foliage looks drought resistant, well suited to your climate.
Even apart from drought, it likes rocky, well-draining soil. I usually find it in the Hill Country, which tends toward far more dryness than my area.

Sunny and buttery…and here they just keep spreading..coming up between bricks on the patio, in crevices, discarded hanging baskets, in pots…more and more delightful sundrops.
They are easy to pull up if they take over, but I usually let them fill in all the spaces in between. 🙂

I’ve never heard of “sundrops” before, and they’re gorgeous. Snowdrops, of course, but I didn’t know there was a golden yellow variety.

Sweet flowers and a brilliant yellow, Eliza. Are they quite small?
They are each about 2″ in diameter. Hundreds of blossoms spread across my garden right now are quite brilliant indeed!
