What a cool shot!
Thank you, Dale! Fall is here!
Yay! My favourite.
Very cool, indeed!
Thanks, Carol!
What a marvellous sight to witness, Eliza.
Thank you, Anne. It is always stirring to see and hear them honking overhead. It signals the end of summer and the coming of winter. We must prepare!
Beautiful birds Flying in sky
Thank you!
Winter is on the way.
Yes, they are warning us to prepare!
Beautiful capture 👏
Thank you, Karen! x
Cool photo. It’s been so warm in MN, it’s easy to forget it’s really autumn. Our geese may be confused too. I haven’t been hearing them overhead.
Thank you, Ellen. I heard flocks surprisingly early last month after that brief cold spell. I often wonder where they spent the summer? Judging from the size of the flocks, it was a good one.
Lovely! Bet they made a noise too 💛
Thank you, Val. The honking is the best part! 🙂
Breathtaking! 💙
Thank you, Barbara! You must be seeing a lot of migrants, too, I imagine.
How delightful to witness this abundance of geese on the move, Eliza. A wonderful photo and reminder of our autumn migrations.
Thank you, Jet. Yes, this was a sizable flock. A part of me always wants to follow!
Beautiful – thank you
Thank you!
Migration always is soul-stirring. I’m hoping that this year their flight path will come over us; sometimes it does, sometimes not.
You expressed it perfectly, Linda: soul-stirring. I feel such ancient longing when they pass overhead. Hope you see some flocks.
Awesome shot!!!! So, it’s that time of year uh?! Hello Fall!!!!!
Thank you, Dee! 🙂 Between the foliage and the geese, it is clearly autumn!
Yup … definitely autumn 🍂
What a lot of 🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶🪶 & honking.
You got that right! 🙂
I can practically hear the honks!
IKR? Love to hear them, so vocal!
Excellent! Were they close or is it a zoom photo? I thought I heard something yesterday afternoon but couldn’t be sure and just assumed it was too early, so will have to keep a better watch now.
We often get low flying flocks, but this one was clearly on a tight schedule, flying high. Glad I had my zoom lens on. You should be seeing them any day now. 🙂
Come on down. Our White Pelicans have returned to the lake.
They are definitely on the move, trumpeting the seasonal change. I love seeing/hearing them pass overhead.
Very nice Eliza!
Thank you, Reed!
vee south
gosh awe
open mawed mouth!
🙂 thank you
A real sign that Fall is with us. Nice pic (Suzanne)
Truly it is. Thanks, Suzanne!
A beauty of a picture. I can almost hear them calling.
Thanks, Laurie. Their calls reach my heart. 🙂
Same. Always.
For the past weeks we’ve been watching the geese in the mornings, while waiting on my daughter’s bus. It’s always nice to see. Great photo!
Thank you, Maria! A piece of my heart always follows them as I long to follow the sun, too. 🙂
I can understand that feeling ❤
That is a great shot, Eliza. I guess I will be seeing those guys soon.
They are definitely coming your way. Thanks, Amy!
Beautifully captured Eliza, so lovely to see and hear them heading South 💛
Thank you, Xenia. A marvel that draws my heart every time!
They are started settling in down this way, many more yet to arrive! Great photo.
Thank you, Gary. Great birding along the Sacramento River I hear.
All the way up to the Oregon border, bald eagles winter up around Tule Lake. Are heads are on a swivel starting around this time of the year.
They’re on the move! Looks like they know the seasons are changing, too.
They know it before we do. 🙂
Wow, what a wonderful site to see
It certainly is, Karina. I love hearing their calls as they wing their way south. Wish I could follow!
Always an impressive sight. It’s a great capture too.
Thank you, Kris! It never fails to lift my heart.
Great shot, Eliza. I love to see birds in migration form. It’s such an ancient, life-affirming act!
Yes, it truly is– thanks, Tina!
Grab an extra blanket. :-0
Ha, yes! 🙂
That is a whole lot of birds! Nice shot. 😊
Thank you, Irene!
Impressive formation. We’re seeing a lot of geese on the move as well.
Thanks, Belinda. Canada geese are the most populous goose in the world… a very successful species!
Fabulous, so far I’ve only seen small groups together.🙂
Thank you, I was surprised by the size of this flock– must have grown as others joined it perhaps.
Heading my way! 😍
Yes, they were, and at a good clip! 🙂
This is such a great shot, Eliza. Don’t you sometimes wish you could fly with them? (I do.) 🙂
Every time! I would love to migrate to a warmer clime in the fall. 🙂
Are they heading south for the winter, Eliza? It’s a beautiful sight. 🙂
Hi Joanne! Yes, they are escaping the cold and snow of winter – lucky things! 😉
There they go. An amazing migration with the constant leader changes…almost like a murmuration as they shift in flight. Nice capture, Eliza!
Thank you, Steve!
You’re so blessed, Eliza! ❤️
Sometimes I must agree! 😀 Thanks, Isha. x
Oh yes … I think I heard some geese just the other day. Great formation and capture!
Thanks, Denise! I always long to follow them. 😉
Oh, I love this, Eliza. Excellent capture!
Thank you, Jane! 🙂
