Winter Solstice Greetings!
As we in the northern hemisphere make our way back towards the sun, I wish you warmth and good cheer at this change in seasons.
And happy summer solstice to my southern hemisphere friends as well!
Thank you! You have captured both the cold and the sun so beautifully – a lovely solstice picture.
Thank you, Anne. 🙂
Thanks Eliza, I feel cool immediately upon sight of your image.
It was 44C(112F) yesterday and to make matters worse, our fire alarms went off and we all had to troop down the fire escape stairs and out into the heat (well, not me, I, together with 2 others claimed dizziness and heat exhaustion and stayed in the foyer).
Seasons greetings to you and your family. Hope you have an enjoyable time over the next couple of weeks and looking forward to some more lovely nature images in 2020.
Thank you, Vicki. Sorry to hear it has been so beastly hot for you. We’re opposite here at single digit F temps!
Happy summer solstice Eliza 🙂
Thank you, Karen!

We’re here already, Eliza? Wow! And fyi …. gorgeous shot!! Let’s celebrate the days of LIGHT getting longer now. YAY!
IKR? Longer days are in the offing. 🙂
A perfectly beautiful photo of Jack Frost’s skills.
Thank you, Alice!
This is perfect….whatever that gold is in the background (a leaf?), coming into focus like the sun through the frost. Happy Solstice!
Thank you! Yes, an illusion of the sun, but it works for the occasion. 🙂
Happy Solstice!
Thank you, Donna! Longer days ahead!
Winter solstice always seems magical to me, and your photo is beautiful. Happy solstice to you!
Thank you, Ellen!
A day to celebrate😊. Your photo showcases it beautifully!

I’m looking forward to the incremental expansion of light.
Same here, it’s a bit of a relief, isn’t it?

Brrr, a wonderful of frozen light! It is all lighter from today forward. Happy Solstice.
A beautiful image Eliza. The light starts returning for us:)
Lovely! Happy Solstice, Eliza!
Beautiful picture. I love it when the hoarfrost covers everything, making the world a sparkling wonderland.
Thank you~ The glitter of winter is so enchanting!
May this birth of the New Year bring you dreams that come true, and ease of heart. 🙂
Thank you very much!
The winter solstice certainly did come in with a frosty chill. Nice backlit frosted autumn survivor, Eliza.
Thank you, Steve.
Happy Solstice, Eliza! I love the tracery effect of the frosting. I am struggling to like posts again at the moment – it’s not your blog, but some setting in my browser I have yet to fathom, but I very much like this.
Thank you, Susan! Hope you can work that bug out. 🙂
I seem to be OK if I’m in the Reader, but if I’m on a blog, which I really prefer, it’s more hit and miss.
What a great image. Happy Winter Solstice Eliza!
Thank you, Susie!
A lovely shot. Happy Solstice to you too, how lovely to know that we have turned the corner.
Thank you, Liz. Onward to spring!
Wonderful image. I used to visit my kids’ classes on the Winter Solstice and read them stories about the original customs associated with the Solstice. The kids were so receptive to these stories, I miss those days. Happy Solstice to you Eliza!
Sounds like a great thing to introduce kids to and I bet many remember those stories.
Thank you, Sylvia!
Fabulous image to celebrate the beautiful change of seasons!🙂
Thank you, S!
MAGIC ELIZA, NOW IT IS TIME TO ENJOY CHRISTMAS, CHINA
Thank you, China!
Reblogged this on LIVING THE DREAM.
Your beautiful photo, to me, is the visualization of Lewis Caroll’s words: “I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, ‘Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again’.” Thank you for sharing it!
Thank you for your wonderful comment!
Exquisite shot!
Thank you, Fi!
Splendid photo, Eliza.
Thank you, Wendy!
Beautiful!
Thank you, Harold!

Such a beautiful image, Eliza, embracing the beauty of the earth even on a frigid day. Enjoyed your sentiments, too, and wish you a wonderful new year ahead filled with great light and fun times in and out of your lovely garden.
Thank you very much! x
Happy 2020 soon.
Thank you, Steve.
Wow! How delicate. I love the colors as well, those warm fall browns and how they contrast with the frost. This is a stunning photograph–thank you for sharing. ❤
Thank you very much, Shayleene! x
A really lovely picture Eliza.
Thank you, Alison!
Beautiful frosty detail!
Thanks, Denise! We don’t get a lot of hoarfrost, but I love it when we do.
Thank you
