Summer Bouquet

Summer flowersIt’s been a while since I posted one of my arrangements. I haven’t been making as many this summer, as my new kitten, Bunny, gets into all sorts of things and there are only a few places where a vase is safe from her playful curiosity. But the urge still strikes me and I gave in today to go play with some flowers.

Using my Moroccan pitcher, I’ve arranged pink Phlox (P. paniculata), gold, light and dark pink Zinnias (Z. elegans), pink Coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea), starry Garlic Chives (Allium tuberosum) and white Flowering Tobacco (Nicotiana alata).

Floral bouquetFor wildflowers, I used pinwheels of gold Woodland Sunflowers (Helianthus divaricatus), puffs of white Snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) and Goldenrod (Solidago sp.).

Gold ZinniaIt was fun creating it, and I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I had making it!

    skilled arranger 🙂

  3. Such a beautiful bouquet which screams summer all over it. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us. With the most recent bout of 90+ degree days, too many of my summer blooms are too parched to pick. Thank goodness for zinnias! 😉
