Nothing speaks of summer sunshine better than sunflowers (Helianthus annuus). Using my Artesa sunflower pocket vase, I’ve arranged three varieties, ‘Italian White,’ Lemon Queen’ and an unmarked gift packet item that I believe is ‘Pro-Cut Orange.’ Wild goldenrod (Solidago sp.) finishes the look.

You’re very welcome.
So uplifting!
🙂 Thank you!
This vase is BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you, Anne!
Super gorgeous, colors are so soothing and perfect. I love the swirly pattern that the soon-to-be-seeds make in sunflowers.
Thank you, Alice. A great example of a Fibonacci sequence. 🙂
Awesome

We may not have had much of a summer this year, but this selection of blooms more than makes up for that!
🙂 Thank you, I hope so!
Sunshine in a vase!
Yes, it is, thank you!
That is so very pretty Eliza! 😀
Thank you, Cathy. I thought of your sunflower vase while I arranged this. Will we see it soon?
When I get home I will check the sunflower situation! 😉
A lovely sunny bunch.
Thank you, Sherry.
This must be one of the best sunflower arrangements I’ve ever seen. Brilliant!
Wow, thank you very much, Christina. 🙂
Yes!! Radiant sunshine. What a boost for the soul 🙂
🙂 Yes, indeed. Thanks, Liz!
Gorgeous Eliza and perfect in your lovely vase. What a delight to have this on your table to bring a smile to your face.
Thank you, Chloris. They really do dress up a table!
Gorgeous! So much sunshine in that vase. I love those Italian Whites I planted a few for the first time this year. Now they are on the must have list.
Thank you, Catherine. They are pretty, prolific branchers, making them perfect for cutting.
This one would win a blue ribbon. WOW – great flowers and you could probably get top dollar for that gorgeous vase. Great way to start Monday. 🙂
🙂 Many thanks, Judy!
That’s lovely! I like the creamy white sunflowers! This year I have just one sunflower plant in bloom.
Thank you, Joanna. I know, the cold, wet spring made it hard to start annuals.

You’ve captured a bright summer day in a vase! Very cheerful and bright.
Thank you, Peter. Wish I could preserve it to bring out in January!
Sunny, indeed! Too bad you couldn’t bottle it for the dark days ahead.
How I wish! Thanks, Laurie.
I absolutely adore your ceramic vase….so gorgeous and the assortment of sunflowers takes my breath away. My big sunflowers were a bust due to cold and critters except for small ones I grew for vases.
Thank you, Donna. Mine got a late start, but they finally caught up… my ‘Hella Sonnenblume’ is 14′ tall!
Hey, let me get my sunglasses, Eliza! So beautiful, love this and the vase itself is adorable.
Thank you, Annette. 🙂
You’ve captured sunbeams in a jar….(paraphrasing from Swinging’ on a Star lyrics)
Yes, thank you, I love the comparison!
Can there be a better vase for sunflowers than that one? Your flowers still look fabulous while mine are fading fast. I love that orange-colored sunflower.
Thank you, Kris. That vase is becoming a summer tradition!
Now that really pops Eliza. Love it 💛🌻💛
Thank you, Val!
You could not have a more perfect vase for this bouquet. They were made for each other. Really enjoyed your eclipse story.
Thank you, Linda!
The vase is beautiful and the flowers set it off fabulously, I didn’t even know there were other kinds of sunflowers 🙂
Thank you, Andrea. After the sunflower craze a decade or so ago, lots of smaller hybrids have come out. Many are quite lovely in the garden.
What a beautiful vase just made for sunflowers. I love the pale ones, I’m adding them to my seed list.
Thank you, Alison. They are great for cut flowers.
Van Gogh would be proud! Beautiful sunflowers. I have Goldenrod today!
Thank you, Amelia!
You can’t help but be happy looking at this vase!
🙂 Thanks, Sarah!
Gorgeous flowers Eliza and the colours are so lovely!
Thank you, Karen!
That vase manages to outshine the flowers. 🙂
🙂 I won’t tell the flowers.
Sunny through and through, Eliza – lovely!
Thank you, Cathy!
These sunny colours are simply beautiful!
Thank you, Anca!
That vase, and the arrangement you made for it, are absolutely delightful!
Thank you very much, Melissa!
🙂
Beautiful and cheerful arrangement and I love the vase! Thanks for sharing the sunshine!🙂
Thank you!
So sunny and cheerful.
Thank you, Fi!
Gee, they’re all quite different. I never knew. I’m sure it’s a sign of good luck to have a vase full of sunflowers. It should be a tradition.
They last well in a vase, too. Any daisy face is one I love. 🙂
Fantabulous!!! Love the sunflowers! The ants eat mine – chew around the base of the stem and then they topple but I have some tricks up my sleeve for next year.
Ants? I’m glad I haven’t had that problem. They sometimes ‘farm’ aphids, and early on when they are seedlings, the slugs can nail them. It is always something in a garden! I’ve used corn grits scattered around with good luck for the ants.
Thanks for stopping by, Kathy. 🙂
Corn grits! Thanks for the tip!!! I’ll get some next bird seed run.
Not chicken grits, but the cereal kind for cooking (Quaker Oats). It only takes a day or two to see results, but if it rains, a new sprinkling must be reapplied. I rarely have to do it twice however.
On my grocery list Eliza!
Wow! LOVE this one Eliza! ❤
Thank you, Julie!
Such a beautiful and cheerful arrangement. It made me smile. A great BIG smile. 😀
Glad to hear it – thanks, Robin!
Thank you so much for this. Sunflowers are my favorite. They are so bright and happy to look at. I love the vase you put them in. Its perfect! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much, Sunny. They are a perfect match for you. 😉 Thanks for stopping by!
