Silent Sunday

Ruffles of ice to shroud a fallen tree? Beautiful.
Thank you, Maureen. It’s an ice-edged stream. Bet you don’t see those in your neck of the woods! ๐
Oooh, I like this one.
Thank you! Brings back memories, eh? ๐
It does. What a lovely photo composition though! ๐
๐
Looks amazing. Love your photos Eliza ๐
Thank you very much, Karen. ๐
I like this, a very intriguing photo.
Thank you very much, David.
๐
Beautiful and chilly!
Yes, it was – thanks, Carolyn!
Looks beautiful!
Thank you, Cindy!
Dramatic shot Eliza! First thing I thought was the “parting of the waters.”
Thank you, Dor! ๐
I wasn’t sure what this was when I saw it, although my impression was along the same lines as Maureen’s. Another beautiful capture! Any signs of a melt yet?
We had two weeks of above normal temps with lots of melting (most of the snow gone, except in shadows) with it reaching low 60s on Wed. We loved it, but it came to a crashing halt Thurs. with another arctic blast. The windchill last night was neg. 20! Tomorrow is supposed to warm up to the 40s (yes!).
Something way beyond my experience which I can enjoy through your picture – lovely!
Thank you, Anne. Glad to spare you having to endure the bitter cold! ๐
The language of winter is so very different in your neck you of the woods than mine. The patterns formed by the ice look exquisite.
Thank you, Liz. Seeing the constantly changing ice forms are one of my favorite things about winter. Makes putting up with the frigid temps worth it somehow!
It’s like an abstract painting. Wonderful, Eliza!
Thank you very much, Pete!
Such ethereal ice
Thank you, Derrick.
Love the jagged edges of the ice
Thank you, the different shapes and configurations always mesmerizes me.
Beautiful. Nice aerial view it seemly appears to be.
Thank you. One has to be careful not to fall in! ๐
I’ve done that! ๐
A rite of passage for an experienced photographer. ๐
If I don’t come home with splattered mud, dirty knees…it was a bit boring. If I come wet it was maybe a bit to exciting ha ha
๐
Beautiful. Nature gives us such lovely gifts! Your discerning eye got it…your gift for us to enjoy.
Many thanks, Carrie. ๐
An amazing photograph, Eliza! Spectacular!
Thank you very much, Jane!
Hi Eliza!
I always love your pictures. You take some amazing ice photos. I remember from last year. This is beautiful. I hope you are well. I’m rarely on line these days. I’ll be back one day, but in the meantime it is nice to connect with you! Happy Sunday.
Thank you for your kind praise, Mary. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you!
I needed this today, ELiza. Thank you!!!
Thank you, Kim. Have a great week ahead. ๐
Lovely late winter scene!
Thank you, Belinda. This latest arctic blast has brought us flying back to winter!
How very anime the ice looks!
Ha, I can see that. Art imitates life. ๐
Creeping ice fingers.
Yes, apt description, Brian.

Ice art. Good eye Eliza.
Nature at her best. ๐ Thanks for your visit!
Must. Crack. Ice. Even if I fall into a stream!
I’m somewhat glad we don’t walk together, you’d be destroying all my photo ops! ;D
Destroying/turning them into a powerful reminder of human’s ability to influence nature. It’s all in the perspective!
There are so many things, both on a macro and micro scale, that could be. ๐
๐
At first I thought it was an aerial shot of ocean waves around a peninsula. Then I realized the water was frozen. Very cool! Another great shot.
Thank you very much, Diane.
This is beautiful Eliza โ just perfect for reflecting which I need to do today. Thank you.
Thank you, Kathy. Are you heading back soon?
Not until April 11-12 or somewhere around there.
You caught some very unusual forms and color patters here. Makes me appreciate how unique and precious every moment is. Tomorrow, or even three hours later, you probably wouldn’t see this image , but another one with different qualities. Glad you put this out for us to see!
It is very ephemeral, true. Thus, the attraction for me. Thank you, Albert, always a pleasure to hear from you!
It’s as if we are looking into the secret earth.
I love the colors of the stones in the stream, such rich browns and amber. I am such a water person! ๐
Your ice images intrigue me, Eliza! ๐
Thank you, Joanne. Fascinating to me as well, as they are all unique and ever-changing.
Great abstract Eliza!
Nature always amazes, doesn’t she?
Excellent shot, Eliza! Almost looks like something a Disney animator would have created.
Thank you very much, Steve! I appreciate your comment and you stopping by. ๐
