Oh wow, Eliza! Gorgeous!!
Thank you, Mary!<3
Just looking at the photo made me shiver. Enjoy the beauty of the frost, preferably while sipping a hot drink!
Thank you, Kris. Yes, it is pretty nippy out there. Dressing warmly is essential, but the reward of a warm fire and hot tea is a nice thing to return to. ๐
Sugar coating! It’s beautiful.
Thank you, Micheal. Frost is so pretty, and fine so long as you bundle up!
๐
Beautiful! But how do the plants respond to be frozen?
Thank you, Maureen. Good question! Perennial herbaceous plants die to the ground and re-sprout in spring. Some annuals set seed and die, then its seeds overwinter to grow in spring. Not all annuals do this however, those seeds have to be brought inside and kept frost-free.
It’s coming! โโโ
It really is! ๐
Heh, heh, heh … I see what you did there! ๐
Beautiful, Eliza. ๐
Thank you, Peggy. Happy Holidays to you!
Stunningly beautiful!! ๐๐๐
Thank you, Trini!

Thank you for reblogging – much appreciated!
Stunning shot, Eliza!
Thank you very much!
Frost! Capturing winter as she approaches, lovely1
Thank you, yes, approaching fast!
So very pretty, but cooooold! Stay warm Eliza!
Thank you, Cathy. Yes, it is frosty cold out there, but the fire is oh-so-warm!
That is just so beautiful! It made my morning! ๐
Thank you, Joanna. Glad to hear it!
I adore the sprinkle of snow…beautiful!
Thank you, Donna!
Lovely shot! It certainly looks cold, still above 0 Celsius here during the day (mostly ๐).
Thank you, Belinda. It has continued to be the same here, but nights are always frosty. The more moisture in the air, the better the frost!
Makes for great photography!
Yes, it does!
How lovely … a mass of difference textures exaggerated by the ice!
Thank you, Allison!
frosted beauty โค
Thank you, Kim. That it is!
Frilly and frosty…awesome photo!
Thank you, Alice!
Hope youโve got your thermals on Eliza
Good boots and a down coat, along with the requisite hat, scarf and mittens keep me nice and warm, thank you!
Lovely! Thank you, Eliza!
Thank you, Peter!
Frosty!!! … one of my favourite forms of frozen water. ๐
It can be so pretty.
You have eloquently captured the beauty of a frosty garden, Eliza.
Thank you very much, Jet!
I feel like I should be able to see my breath just looking at this photo.
You most probably could! ๐
Pretty as a picture!
Thank you, Laurie. Getting in the mood!
Snow or frost? Whichever, it looks lovely.
Frost; near the river where there is more moisture, the crystals are always lovely. Thanks, Christina.
brrr…today it might be 70 degrees and then it drops to below freezing next few days. Winter is here! Nice capture of the start:-)
Thank you, Robbie. The warm weather in the Midwest is unusual, isn’t it? More weather weirding. I feel for the plants, they must be confused.
in the 60’s this morning and may hit 70 today, so it is coming your way:-) enjoy because tonight it dips!!! Really low-LOL. I”m ready!
Yikes! Today felt mild, but only hit 40. Maybe tomorrow will be milder. It usually takes about 2 days for your weather to get here.
The cold is behind that warm stuff!!! brrrrr…LOL
oh dear… ๐
Jack Frost’s artistry is brilliant!
Every night he creates a new exhibit, too! ๐
I’ve looked at this off and on, and I just now noticed that it is snowing. In the picture, or am i imagining again. Either way, its all the more beautiful!
Thank you, Albert. WordPress offers the option under Settings of adding snow to your website. I think it is kind of fun and yes, beautiful.
Very nice photo, the frost emphasizes the colours. I think it’s very artistic ๐
Thank you very much, Michael!
Brrrr, frosty! I used to love frosty, sunny mornings – magic! Here, it’s very dewy.
Yes, frost is a bit magical and not bad if one is dressed right. Although, in these dim days, dewy sounds pretty good. ๐
Beautiful composition! Love the natural textures! Bet this would also translate well to a black and white composition. You may have to play with the luminosity of oranges and yellows to get an optimal b&w tonality range.
Thank you, I might give it a try!
