Old sea shanty – slightly paraphrased:

‘I saw a ship go sailing by, sailing by, sailing by.
I saw a ship go sailing early in the morning.’

Eliza: how are your Monarch babies….must be pre-teens by now! I haven’t seen any Milkweed leaf nibbles. Did see a Hummingbird on the Cuphea (planted July 3rd in that pot) for the first time on Friday…and I look so often! Saw a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth, yesterday, was all over “wild” pink petunias that grow everywhere. They are so interesting.

Three of them are 2″ long and eating like crazy and there are new babies in the patch. Pretty exciting. Been seeing many adults this week, too. Thanks for asking! Might do an update post this week.

  13. Alice Pratt says:

Wow! 2″. They are growing like (Milk) weeds! More babies is defunitely quite exciting! Eliza’s Monarch nursery!
