Ramblings From Jewels

Lovely Monarchs  fluttering free on the breeze

Thank goodness that people share that they care about their fellow creatures. I was up in Carpinteria two weekends ago, and I got a couple of good photos of a Monarch on the path beside the beach-side park. Last fall I got some good shots of Monarch caterpillars out at Venice Beach — another beach-side location.

I saw a Monarch today for sure in my yard. I tried to get a picture, but he wouldn’t hold still for me. We have 3 “Sweet Memories” (duranta erecta) and that’s where he visits the most. We have also the white variety (alba) that he doesn’t visit much. He likes the purple flowers.
