A favorite Bearded Iris (I. germanica) of mine is one I call ‘Root Beer’ but its true cultivar is unknown to me as it was a passalong many years ago.


A few Allium seedheads were added, a few stems of Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’ and catmint (Nepeta racemosa), ninebark foliage with blooms just starting open and fuzzy lamb’s ears flower buds (Stachys byzantina).

What an excellent iris! We grow quite a few here, but none are red or brown.
