    It’s interesting that lichen can grow, on such non-nutritious areas, and so little room for any kind of root system.

    I enjoy the lichen-covered trees in our garden – the varieties are many andthey are fascinating to look at from close up!

    They make such interesting patterns and textures. If one didn’t know, one might imagine this to be a coral reef under the ocean!

    Lichens are fascinating, I struggle to identify them. I have patches of cup lichens and British soldier lichens that I check on from time to time.

    Lichen and moss is something my son used to be extremely interested in when he was a young kid. We used to spend countless hours looking for different varieties that he was particularly interested in.
