I love these old stone fences, we have plenty in our area. They are wonderful. Imagine all the work that went into making them!

Does it mark a property line? I don’t imagine it keeps critters out! I hope there are warmer days ahead, even though the pristine snow is pretty.

Thank you, Kris. It is a bonafide deeded boundary marker, as are many old stone walls here. I am enjoying the less frigid weather lately. Highs in the 30s is just dandy with me, I can deal easily. The best part of winter is NO ticks. They wake up around 45º and are a plague to us! They have made me a winter lover, ha!

Snowy scenes look their best in the light you captured here. Really pretty.

  24. Have you seen the stone walls that Chinese workers built around here in the 1860’s? There is that really tall at Donner Summit. Incredible work.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

No, I haven’t, but I would like to go there next visit. Do you have the exact location I could find on a map? We’re thinking of a trip out in May. Maybe we can swing by for a meet up and tour of your place, if you are game?!

  25. Karma's avatar Karma says:

Such a New England-y sight to see!

  26. The snow-covered stones make for a nice foreground!
