Oh Eliza, these are lovely to see!

  2. Uptop,CO's avatar Uptop,CO says:

No straight path for the little mouse!! Love this!

    🐀🐁🐀🐁🐀

  3. Haha, I love it. Bet the toes were cold when they got home 🤣❤️🙏

  4. Karen Lang's avatar Karen Lang says:

    Beautiful mouse Art 🖼️ 🥶

  5. Rupali's avatar Rupali says:

    This is fascinating.

  6. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

The trails are fascinating, but I still don’t like seeing them in my garden…. leading into a flower bed with lots of holes under plants! 😩

  7. Busy mice. I hope they don’t move into your house for the winter.

  8. Dale's avatar Dale says:

Looks like it (they) did quite the workout!

  9. julie mankowsky's avatar jmankowsky says:

I’ve never seen mouse trails before, just mole trails! I’ll have to keep a lookout.

  10. Alice's avatar Alice says:

This one, or these, were stirring. Maybe looking for birdseed. So many tracks in our front & back yard, going under the deck.

  11. shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

The tracks in the three smaller photos, particularly the one on the left, look like crewel work: the chain stitch stands out.

  12. maryjane678's avatar maryjane678 says:

    Hi Eliza. Very sweet! MJ

  13. Flowerpoet's avatar Flowerpoet says:

Delightful! Perhaps there’s a Beatrix Potter kind if story there. This reminds me of the Easter day when our children and I opened the living room curtains to find bunny tracks in the snow. The magic of imagination… 😍🤩💕

  14. Pepper's avatar Pepper says:

What a busy mouse going every which way. 😁

  15. dawnkinster's avatar dawnkinster says:

Aren’t they cool? Especially when they start looking like little mounds rather than concave. Cool unless those little tracks are making tracks to your attic or basement!

  16. Wow, love these images! How cute.

  17. Jane Lurie's avatar Jane Lurie says:

Love these images, Eliza. Nature’s playful art!

  18. krispeterson100's avatar krispeterson100 says:

Poor mice! I hope their fur provides some protection from the cold.

  19. It must be very interesting to keep an eye on who’s passing by. It’s a nice pattern those tiny feet have made too 😊

  20. Murtagh's Meadow's avatar Murtagh's Meadow says:

    How sweet

  21. How busy they are! Little creatures.

  22. gaiainaction's avatar gaiainaction says:

Beautiful, and to us here quite amazing to see.

  23. Bela Johnson's avatar Bela Johnson says:

Ohhh, I remember these. In New Mexico, there were rabbit trails as well. It’s fun to figure out how the feet fall in the snow to differentiate the tracks. 😉

  24. Tina's avatar Tina says:

I love those little tracks in the snow! I know animals are used to the elements, but I can’t help but wonder about those tiny cold feet!

  25. Vicki's avatar Vicki says:

Wouldn’t you think those tiny feet would get too cold to handle snow. I love the little track it made.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Vicki. They are at risk of freezing if they stop, but they run very fast with a high metabolism and dart back to a cosy nest quickly. I have found frozen ones in the past lying on top of the snow, but rarely.

  26. tomwhelan's avatar tomwhelan says:

Nice shadows and 3D look to the tracks. I see mouse and rabbit tracks every time I go out my front door. I see bird tracks in the backyard from the juncos and other backyard birds that come to out feeder.

  27. Looks like it couldn’t decide which way to go!

  28. Debbie's avatar Debbie says:

    Aw, such busy creatures!

  29. Great post for Wordless Wednesday! I love to view tracks in the snow.

  30. These are so cool! Works of art!

  31. Maria's avatar Maria says:

The patterns they make are outstanding. It truly is beauty in everything.

  32. Annette's avatar Annette says:

In our Swiss garden they create elaborate tunnel systems under the snow during winter. As fascinating as it is I’d prefer to see less of them. In spite of the owls and snakes they’re such a nuisance here 🙈

  33. These tracks are as charming as the one who left them behind. 🐁🐾. So cute 😊

  34. Have you ever seen a mouse making one of those trails?

  35. Awesome seeing and captures. Looks like it might have been dragging its tail!
