Silent Sunday – Snowy Day
This entry was posted in Country Living, My Photos and tagged photography, Silent Sunday, snowy day, winter. Bookmark the permalink.

lovely snowy scene, Eliza. Stay warm!
Thank you, Jane. I’m planning on it! 🔥
Lovely view.
Thank you, Rupali. I spend most of my winter days with that view. I feel blessed to live here!
👏😍
It is very beautiful. I hope you stay warm next to your wood stove though 🙂
Thanks, Maria. Yes, you won’t find me far from it!
Glacial but beautiful
Thank you, Sheree. It’s been very cold and another snowstorm is expected today – It’s Winter! ❄️
Oh no ⛄️ ❄️ 🥶
I hear tell its been a bit white over there Eliza. Your photo looks like that wonderland indeed 🤣❤️🙏
Yes, we are having a REAL winter this year. Another foot of snow expected today!
Wooha, that’s getting serious. I was watching a Buffalo Bills game and it was amazing watching the snow floating in and settling on everything. Mind you, lots of dropped balls. Must get a bit cold on the fingers 🤣
It is currently 5F here and it numbs the fingers very quickly. Those poor guys probably can’t even feel their fingers, let alone control the ball!
Ooh that’s cold my friend. Just finished watching Seahawks and Rams. The commentators had to finally admit that out there somewhere was a ball and lots of players. They just weren’t sure where 🤣
Such a beautiful winter scene Eliza, I hope you’re all keeping warm and cosy! 🧡 xxx
Thank you, Xenia. The wood stove is churning out the heat! 🔥 💖
Hi Eliza. OMG that looks horribly cold! It’s minus three here in Strasbourg and we have a two hour wait at the train station to head back to Olivia Rose. That’s quite cold enough for me.
MJ
Dry cold is better than damp cold, which I believe Europe gets a fair amount. I wear a down coat head to ankle with insulated boots and it makes it easily bearable. Not exactly stylish, but who cares? 🙂 Yesterday the windchill was -27C, but if one found a sunny pocket, it wasn’t that bad. 😀 Bon voyage!
Hi Eliza . Your coat sounds gorgeous! And given your temperatures I guess I shouldn’t complain!
MJ
Beautiful photo of a winter scene! Happy Sunday!
Thank you, Kymber!
Beautiful! We are watching the snow build up here.
Thank you, enjoy the beauty!
Very pretty scenic capture. We seem to be in the jack-pot zone, in eastern MA…hopefully no outages…we’ve had 3 in barely 11 months…that’s enough!
Thank you, Alice. It’s a biggie coming, hope you are spared the worst and get to enjoy the beauty of it. ❄️
Very pretty but this scene will change greatly by Tuesday morning. Stay safe it still seems we will be slammed over here by the coast.
Thanks, Eunice. You and your John Deere got this! Take care, stay safe and warm. 👍🏼
I actually am looking forward to spending time out in the quiet of the blanketed landscape. The birds are certainly fueling up like crazy and the bobcat was still healthy as it came through this morning. ❤
It is pretty to see and the hush in a storm is wonderful, so peaceful.
Boy it was miserable out there as it snowed, in an open cab with no heat. The Pats are going to the Superbowl though 🙂 We play Seattle. How much did you get? We had over a foot 2 hours ago.
I bet you froze! I shoveled around 3 pm and there was about 6″ then, and there’s probably gonna be the same tomorrow. It’s supposed to go until 5 pm. I’m getting my exercise! I bet Pats fans are going crazy, an awesome comeback!
Beautiful, snowy photo, Eliza, it’s the perfect winter shot! Funnily enough, we’re in the white this morning, too. Mostly ice/wintry mix and will be very cold in the next days. I guess that’s January for ya!
Thank you, Tina. Yes, winter is winter. 😀 Stay warm and hope you thaw out soon. 🙂
I’m sure we’ll both have more pics like these to post soon!
Yup! Stay warm and cozy!
That looks like some heavy, wet snow. Stay safe, Eliza.
Thank you, Pepper. This is a shot from last week, but currently it’s nice and dry, hopefully a breeze to shovel. 🤞🏼
Very good. 😉
The fluffy dry snow we are getting here in W MA is bringing a much needed quiet to our souls.
Yes, indeed. Enjoying the view from inside!
Beautiful photo
Thank you! ❄️
We’ve got pretty much the same weather, Eliza. Stay warm and indoors, if you don’t absolutely have to get out there on the roads.
Nope, I’m settled for the duration! Stay cozy!
Fantastic photography! The snow’s beautiful in nature.
Thank you, Ryan. Falling snow is very pretty, esp. in the trees.
Lovely scene but I hope that snow doesn’t get any deeper with the current storm!

It is predicted to snow through tomorrow afternoon. Over a foot expected! 😀
A snowy day indeed! Did you take that shot Monday after last weekend’s weather? Really coming down now.
Yes, from the last blow. We’ll see what this one brings!
Looks like heavy, wet stuff! Still pretty.
Thank you, Sandy. This newer snowfall today is granular and dry. Should be easier to move, fingers crossed!
So gorgeous! We were lucky to escape ice, but we’ll stay below freezing for a bit. Your mention of below zero temperatures put me in a count my blessings mode! I think I’m going to republish one of my snow poems. I used one of Steve G’s photos in the past; would you mind if I used this one (with attribution, of course)? Even though we have the cold, we’re a little short on this sort of dramatic snow.
Thank you, Linda. I’m flattered you want to use it– of course, you may, and thanks for asking. 🙂
So lovely! 😍
Thank you, Julie!
Pretty! Stay warm!
Thank you, Donna. I expect you are getting this storm, too. It is very cold!
Very cold, I’ve only stepped outside to fill the feeders, then rushed back in!
Beautiful. I don’t know where you’re from, but this looks just like where we are in Michigan!
Thanks, Dawn. Massachusetts and yes, it is super cold and snowing here, too! 😀
Lovely shot, Eliza! It looks like what’s coming our way ❄️
Thank you, Belinda. It’s been bitterly cold since Friday, and the snow today is icy, not flakey per usual, and still coming down. Strange weather! Stay warm and safe!
You too!
Beautiful … what with the fog freezing in the morning, frost, and a few flurries of snow, our trees look like this too. 😀
Thank you, winter certainly has great beauty!
Beautiful 🤩
Thank you, Susan!
Winter is being so photogenic this year!
It certainly is! We’re having a REAL winter! 🙂
Us too 😉 Course, we almost always do but still…
We haven’t had this much snow in quite a few years. I like the seasons to stick to their mandate!
You are one of the ones who is happy about the snow. I like that 🙂
The snow is so lovely draped over the evergreens. A very peaceful scene.
Thank you, Rebecca. I love a walk in a winter wonderland!
Really pretty Eliza. I love it when the snow is clinging to the trees and branches.
Thanks, Denise. I love that pencil-lined look on branches. It doesn’t last long, so I pay close attention. 🙂
If it wasn’t so bitter cold, I’m guessing a walk through those woods would be lovely. Take good care and stay warm.
Thank you, Monika. This winter is like the ones I remember decades ago, lots of snow and cold. (I must admit these past mild winters had me spoiled!) I’ll keep calm and carry on. 😉
Great capture! Stay warm!
Thank you, Beth!
Beautiful scene and image. Snow makes trees look beautiful. Hope you dug out from the latest snowfall, we got almost 24 inches.
Thanks, Tom. Wow, you got a good 10″ more than we did and you aren’t all that far away!
💙 beautiful ❄️
Thank you, Barbara! 💙
