The water always flows regardless the season Eliza, an acceptance regardless of its path 🤗🎄🎅🎶🎁🦌☃️❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark.
Looking very wintery
Thank you, Sheree. We’re having a cold and snowy December for a change.
Beautiful winter scene.
Thank you, Brian. ❄️
This is so serene and beautiful.
Thank you, Kymber. 🙂
I love the long shadows we see at this time of year, so close to the solstice.
Thank you, Barbara. And only two weeks more and the days will start to grow longer, amazing!
That’s one of the warmest winter scenes I’ve come across; the sunlit glow of the grasses is wonderful.
Thank you, Linda. Looks can be misleading… it was bitterly cold that day, but I love the contrasts in color and texture from river to sky. Always a beautiful place to pause.
My river, as it abuts my land, is frozen solid.
This one moves too swiftly to freeze solid, but the edges always do. Great for seeing otter tracks.
I love when they visit me but it seems they just come here to sled 🙂 further down stream where it converges with the Lamprey there is usually some open waters for the Eagle to hunt. Ospreys in the spring, summer and fall.
What a beautiful view!
Thank you, Alice. I never tire of it. 🙂
Long shadows and a lot of snow! This looks a pretty scene 🙂
Thank you, Anne. We always pause here on our walk around the property, it’s pretty in all seasons. 🙂
Pretty but brrr…

Thanks, Kris. Yes, it has been really cold so far this year. It’s been years since it has been this cold and snowy in December. ❄️ 🥶
Cold, but beautiful.
Thanks, walks are brisk!
I love sunny winter days, especially if there are shadows! Here today it’s just snowing a lot. I’ve already gone out and cleared the driveway 2x. And fed the birds 2x. Now I think I’ll stay inside and just watch it for awhile. It’s pretty. And I’m retired. So all’s good.
Thank you, Dawn. At this time of year especially, sunlight is crucial. We’re getting a bit of snow today, too. It is pretty, so long as I don’t have to drive in it. Perks of retirement! 😉
Beautiful photo, Eliza. So much movement and texture!
Thank you very much, Tina!
I can stand winter if I can get sunlight. Otherwise, all bets are off! This is a lovely photo, showing just how long winter’s shadows become. Our meteorologist calls it “no justice sunshine,” and that makes good sense to me.
Agreed, Debbie. Relentless gray drags me down. I rejoice in a sunny day!
It’s a lovely creek, does it freeze over completely?
Thank you, Belinda. It it stays cold long enough, all but a few holes of fast water freezes solid. Rare, prolonged cold can even freeze blobs of ice on the bottom as bubbles of cold air are pushed down. The thickest ice I’ve seen over the years is a foot thick, though that rarely happens.
Well, I hope it’s not a foot thick of ice kind of winter ❄️
Yeah, me, too! 😀
That looks so pretty. Sunshine brings warmth to even a snowy day. 😊
Thank you, Pepper!
Gorgeous! Love the warm tones against the snow. Beautiful composition.
Thank you, Dale! 🙂
Beautiful long shadows Eliza, it looks so wintry already! 🤍✨️ xxx
Thank you, Xenia! Winter has arrived much earlier than in recent years, I think due to a southerly dip in the jet stream from the north. Chilly and blustery for the next couple days. 🥶
So beautiful!
Thank you!
That landscape is in my blood. I can feel it through your photograph. 💕
I know just what you mean. I remember my first walk on this property and it had the ‘smell’ of home. 🙂 Thanks, Bela.
😘
Can you send me that landscape for a few hours so I can take pictures of it? I promise to send it right back to you afterwards.
🙂 If only…. I’d have someone post me to Hawaii!
It’s a very nice post but I’m already done with winter, I know, it’s only December and I have three more months to go. 😦
Thank you, Eileen. Spring will be here before we know it, time flies!
A pretty winter palette and scene!
Thank you, Denise!
