It is Day Seven, the last day of Cathy at Words and Herbs annual ‘A Week of Flowers‘, where she invites any and all to join her (until 7th December) to share a photo or two of something bright and colorful from our garden taken over this past growing season. Thank you ever so much, Cathy, for hosting this cheerful pick-me-up meme to brighten our early December days. It’s been so uplifting! 👏🏼

The pink and orange combination in the top photo is beautiful, and it really is set off nicely by the blue in the vase. I smiled at your bluebird at the top, as well. This afternoon there were bluebirds flitting around a friend’s yard; it’s always a joy to see them.
Thank you, Linda. We feed dried mealworms to the bluebirds in winter and during nesting season. They become quite used to us and even come when they are called, just like chickens! 😀
Oh my gosh! That first one looks like a painting and is absolutely gorgeous!
The three others are beautiful, too.
Thank you, Dale! That is a fun collarette dahlia, with a silly name ‘Giggles,’ though I’m glad I gave it a try.
I truly love it. Glad you did!
Oh, I remember that first dahlia.
Yes, that’s ‘Giggles’… a funny name, but pretty flower. 🙂
Your lead flower is a stunner, Eliza!
Thank you, Jane. Dahlia ‘Giggles’ is a beauty, helped by being picked at the perfect time. The center flowers open and become a mass of pollen, changing its look considerably. 🙂
So much pretty colour to liven up these dark December days! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Maria. Glad to have you along. 🙂
Eliza, that first photo looks like a painting. I love the beauty and detail. It’s been a fun week, eh?
Collarette Dahlia ‘Giggles’ is its name. It has an intriguing blend and wash of colors. Glad you joined the fun this week. This meme is such a spirit-lifter!
Thank you for sharing these lovely memories of sunny days and soft breezes Eliza. Seems so long ago now. We have left France and are back in the UK for 6 weeks or so. Needless to say it’s raining! And grey, vand windy. Back home our reservoirs are all nearly empty, but here the river has burst it’s banks again. Different worlds, but it’s great to be with family for a while.
MJ
Thank you, MJ. Glad you enjoyed the look-back. Hope the winter rains move over to France to revive your reservoirs and rivers. Enjoy your family holidays!
That first photo is mesmerizing Eliza… I could get lost in those petals! I wonder if the bees notice the beauty all around them. 😆 Thanks for all your lovely contributions this week! 🤗
Thank you for being team leader, Cathy, it was a fun week of sharing the beauty of our gardens.
They’re on fire! 🤣❤️🙏
For sure! 😀
Lovely!! 🙏✨

A gorgeous end to a gorgeous week!
Thank you, K!
I love dahlias! Especially the colors in that first one.
Thank you, Dawn. New this year, I really liked it.
🩷❤️💛🧡💜🤍💚🤩🙌🏼
Thank you, Susan. A delightful week of sharing. 🙂
That collarette dahlia at the top of your post looks like a painting, Eliza! I’ve developed a fondness for that dahlia type. Do you recall the name of the cultivar?

Thank you, Kris. Another one of my newbies this year, it is ‘Giggles.’ Not very long for cutting, but a beauty all the same.
That first dahlia is special!!
Thank you, Allison. ‘Debora Renae’ was new to me this year, quite pleasing with a bicolour of light and dark reds in each petal.
Dahlia delights…all so gorgeous.
Thank you, Alice. Dahlias are so photogenic!
Such beautiful dahlias Eliza and the first one is especially gorgeous! 🧡 xxx
Thank you, Xenia! 💕
So beautiful
Thank you, Karina. Flowers worth celebrating!
The dahlia and aster combination is wonderful.
Thank you, Tom!
Your last arrangement is so appealing! I’m sorry “A Week of Flowers” is coming to an end.
Thank you, Belinda. Christmasy colored!
Absolutely gorgeous flowers and arrangements, Eliza! Such deep, rich colors.
Thank you very much!
You’ve spent a week showcasing your floral collection, but I’m always impressed with what you grow, both in beauty and variety! Onward to the next growing season!
Thank you, Tina!
your first photo took my breath away!
Thank you, Cath! Glad you enjoyed the photos. 🙂
In your opening photo it’s easy to see how the disk florets form Fibonacci spirals and counter-spirals.
Yes, so perfect.
Absolutely beautiful collection! Oh I just love the red one nestled into the other flowers!
Thank you, Pamela!
Gorgeous flowers and fotos!
Thank you, Denise!
