It is Day Six of Cathy at Words and Herbs annual ‘A Week of Flowers‘, where she invites any and all to join her each day this week (until 7th December) to share a photo or two, taken over the past year, of something bright and colorful from our gardens. Thanks, Cathy, for this cheerful pick-me-up meme to brighten our early December days!

Flashy beauties!
They certainly are! 🙂 Thanks, Dale. 🤩
💞
Very nice
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning, Eliza!
Thank you, Flavia!
Wow, that is a lot of red!
Eye-popping for sure! 🥰
All smiles.
Thanks, Rupali. Happy weekend to you!
Oh, wouldn’t it be nice if we could have these flowers all year round! LOL! Lovely dahlias. And the golden rod takes me back to hot and sunny August days….. 😁
Thank you, Cathy. It is really nice to look back as we head into the really cold season, while dreaming ahead to the next. 😍
Wow, you hit the brief here Eliza!! Fantastic
Thank you, Allison! 🙂
Beautiful red dahlia! ❤
Thank you, Nicole!
Beautiful, and we had a table full of master gardeners talking about the bulbs yesterday at a meeting.
Thanks, Judy. This meme is a nice halfway point between seasons, looking back and ahead, too. 🙂
Another gorgeous red to start the day!
Thanks, Chris!
Beautiful flowers Eliza and the red dahlia is especially gorgeous! ❤️ xxx
Thank you, Xenia! Very cherry-Christmas-red. 🙂
‘Deborah’ Dahlia looks divine.
A new one this year, and an excellent cut flower, too.
I love the vibrant colors of these gorgeous flowers.
The colors really grabbed me.
Thanks, Kymber 🙂
I have so many photos and so little time I am glad you joined her. I will try before it closes out.
It really lifts the heart as we head into winter, knowing that time will come round again.
God willing I pray you are correct xo
I do love seeing that goldenrod again! That’s my favorite, despite the loveliness of the orange shades, and the in-you-face red of that dahlia.
🙂 Thanks, Linda. I love a wild, natural look, too. That red certainly is eye-popping!
All lovely, but I think the dahlia is the star 🌟
Thanks, Belinda. That new one was definitely a winner this summer.
I love that jolt of red at the top of your post. All the warm colors are appreciated on this cold morning. Our version of “cold” anyway 😉

Thank you, Kris. I would love to have ‘your’ version of cold instead of the teens we had last night, ha!
❤️🧡💛💚 marvellous montage!
Thank you, Susan!
Lovely selection, Eliza, brightening another wet, grey day. Is this Solidago ‘Fireworks’?
Thank you, Annette. I have fields of various wild Solidago species so I don’t grow any cultivars. It’d be like bringing coals to Newcastle! 😀
The dahlia looks so Christmasy.
It really does, doesn’t it? A poinsettia blooming in August! 🙂
so beautiful to have this week of flowers. thanks from the heart!
So glad you enjoyed it! 💖
Stunning!
Thank you! 💖
I love dahlias! I have never grown them myself due to those delicate tubers needing to be pulled up in the winter.
I get that… it is a bit of a chore– digging, washing, drying, sorting/dividing and then wrapping to store in a cool place. But worth the effort. Some folks just buy new every year, but I tend to be thrifty by nature. 😉
The color burst that I needed. I love the zinnia and rudbeckia as much as the pretty dahlia.
Thank you, Tom. This meme comes at the right time, helping to dispel the gloom of these short December days.
Beautiful colors, Eliza! Very nice to see on this gray, wintery day.
Thank you, Rebecca! Did you get snow? I noticed a storm on the weather radar.
We got a dusting but nothing major. The temperatures have been in the 40’s or 50’s most days.
