Mountain laurel is something I’ve read about but rarely seen. Very pretty!

The wild ones are a bit more sparse, the cultivars bloom heavily in comparison. I have several types including a dwarf, which only reaches a couple feet tall.
I’d love to see these some day. It took me some years to figure out that your mountain laurel and our mountain laurel are quite different plants. Both are lovely, but this? One of the prettiest ever.

I had the opposite problem as our state flower in PA is mountain laurel. Couldn’t figure out where in the heck the mountains were in TX.
