My Lenox daffodil vase is the perfect choice to feature some of the parade of Narcissus making its way across my yard. Narcissus ‘Pipit’ and ‘Cheerfulness’ are joined by Japanese flowering quince (Chaenomeles japonica), yellow cowslips (Primula veris) and a single Tulipa ‘Albert Heijn.’
Inevitably, as I make my way around the garden, combinations jump out at me that I must pick to bring inside for closer appreciation. Below was inspired by the bleeding hearts (Lamprocapnos spectabilis) that have come on so quickly, as well as a few Narcissus ‘Salome’, sprigs of yellow barrenwort (Epimedium x versicolor ‘Sulphureum) and for scent, Korean spicebush (Viburnum carlesii).

It looks like it is still early spring there. Bleeding hearts are such interesting flowers. I do not know why they are so uncommon here. I sort of wonder if they may not like the climate here.
Thanks, Tony. CA is too hot and dry for them, I’d guess. Most of mine grow in partial shade and moist soil.
That is the impression that I get. I have not seen it in many years, and, although I noticed it in coastal nurseries, I have never seen it perform well in a home garden here.
Ethereal Eliza!
Thank you, Cindy!
That flowering quince looks great with the narcissus and the vase is perfect! Bleeding heart stems are so graceful.
Thank you, Ellen. It is so nice to have an abundance of floral choices these days… the austerity of winter feels far behind now. 👍🏼
All the flowers are super, but the first arrangement is especially graceful and beautiful.
Thank you, Tom. I enjoy the gathering, arranging and enjoying them up close. Abundance!
wow – I love the contrast in the bottle vase (with long whispy blooms) and the lenox vase – with that professional arrangement vibe 🙂
Thank you very much!
😊
Beautiful flower arrangements.
Thank you, Rupali!
Big, bold and yellow Eliza. They speak that green heart well. Thank you for the share kind lady 🤗❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark. Sharing the joy… 😉
Gorgeous!!!
Thank you, C!
Spring has arrived in your garden, and it’s a beautiful sight for sure.
Thank you, Judy. It is a thrill watching the unfolding!
Gorgeous!!
Thank you!
Both are wonderful, but I especially love that quince flower and the Bleeding Hearts. 💕
Thank you, Cathy. So nice to have many choices to choose from these days!
The combination of pink and yellow is so attractive. Two things I particularly like are the curve of the quince, and the green background provided by the lawn and the trees.
Thank you, Linda. It is nice to be gardening once again.
Hi Eliza. Beautiful as ever. I am growing some nasturtiums from seed on the boat but they haven’t shown any signs of growth yet. If they ever do I will put them in a vase and take a picture for you!
MJ
Thanks, MJ. I look forward to that, beauty you can eat!
Good to see the bouquets’ return. Lovely flowers. (Suzanne)
Merci, Suzanne!
Beautiful combinations!!
Thank you, Alice! 🌼
Very pretty combinations! I’m thinking of all your lovely vases patiently waiting for their turns to showcase your floral creations. 🙂
🙂 Thanks, Barbara. I tend to pick my favorite vases over and over, but I really should try to show a few of the less frequent choices… maybe this year!
🤩💛💛🤩🤗🙌🏼 delightful!
Thank you!
Parade really does describe it eh?😁
Surely does… with early, mid and late season selections, it does last a while even if the individuals don’t.
You couldn’t have found a better vase for that first arrangement. I love both arrangements but the second, more casual one, won my heart.

Thank you, Kris. There is much to be said for a quick plonk into a vase. 😉
Oh, the colours! ❤❤❤
Thank you, Tanja! I love to play with flowers. 🙂
No wonder, when your “playing” gets such lovely results. 😊
💖
Both are just beautiful!
Aw, thanks, Tina! 🙂
Both vases are so pretty and filled with flowers I cannot grow. The Lenox vase is beautiful.
Thank you!
Had to stop by and take a look! So very lovely.
Thank you, Laurie, glad you did. 🙂
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Beautiful flowers!
Thank you, Diana!
Wow-so bright and colourful
Thank you, Karina!
These are gorgeous, Eliza. So pretty that I’m finding it hard to pick which one I like better! I love the Narcissus (and your vase sets that pink and yellow combination off to a “T”), but the bleeding hearts in the bottom one evoke kind of an Asian theme to me. So pretty!
Thank you, Debbie! 💕
Delicious! Spring beauties. I love all the colors and the tracery of the Dicentra! Ohhh.
Thanks, Amy. Bleeding hearts are such a unique and graceful flower. I have red/pink, coral (new to me) and white. I love ’em!
Ohh, I want to see the coral. I hope it thrives.
I will get a shot of it if I can.
Very beautiful arrangements 😊
Thank you very much!
What a beautiful spring bouquet!
Thank you, Monika!
That is so pretty! 👏
Thank you, Caroline!
Both arrangements are awesome and I especially love the free-form and variety of the second!
Thank you, Denise. Garden samples to enjoy close up!
Gorgeous vases Eliza and such lovely combinations! 💛 xxx
Thank you kindly, Xenia! 🙂
Vase and flower perfection. 🌸
Thank you, Flavia!
Ooh, I do like the two-tone colours of Pipit, and think that adding the quince to the narcissus and single tulip makes for a great combination
Thank you very much, Cathy!
Love both. What beautiful gardens you must have.
Thank you, Rebecca. It’s the work of a lifetime, and I do enjoy them. Time spent in the garden is where I’m happiest. 🙂
Lovely to see your Quince Eliza. It reminds me of my Grandmother’s garden long ago in the U.K. I love the Daffodil vase and its contents.
Thank you, Jenny!
So much color and beauty in May!! I love how you arranged the flowers in the daffodil vase!🙂
Thank you very much! 🙂
beautifull😍
