Wordless Wednesday – No Sitting Today!
This entry was posted in Field Notes and tagged Adirondack chair, river view, windchill, winter, Wordless Wednesday. Bookmark the permalink.

Nope, have to wait awhile! We have had more snow and a high of 1F today. BRR…..
The only good thing about it being this cold is increasing appreciation of warmer days! Stay warm, Sandy!
You are right about that, Eliza. You stay bundled up, too.
Um, I think not 🤗❤️🙏
Yup! 😉
This is a beautiful shot!
Thank you, Alys!
Definitely not! The snow-laden chars make an interesting picture though!
Thank you, Anne, those chairs make me dream of summer. 🙂
Oh wow! That is cold but so beautiful.
Thank you, Flavia. It is nice to be outside, even if briefly.
Go make a snowman, yo! ☃️
Believe it or not, it is too cold and dry for snow to stick together! Temps due to rise to the 30sF by Saturday, hurrah! 😉
Snow angels, then? Hehe
Keep warm, Eliza ❤️
Thanks, Isha!
My body would crumble like a saltine cracker. Too, too cold…. Your photo did make me hungry for some hot tomato soup though.
😀 These temps challenge even my warmest gear, Gary. It is a refreshing walk to say the least, and so nice to get back inside to the wood stove. 🙂
Beautiful.
Thank you, Rupali!
This image more than makes up for all that snow we didn’t get!
It has been sooo cold, one must keep moving!
I do try, but curling up with a blanket is so appealing, Eliza…
I know… some days I really must force myself to get out, but I know I’ll feel better when I do. 🙂
Soon, we will be able to leave the house without arctic padding!
👍🏼
Yikes 🥶
Soooo cold! 😀
I know. I know. Hang in there …
It looks so beautiful Eliza and I wouldn’t be sitting there today either! 😊💙 xxx
Thank you, Xenia. One has to stay in motion when it is this cold. The wind has been ferocious!
Looks ❄️
Very chilly! 🥶
I tried to do a little clean up yesterday, but it was so wicked cold I gave up. It can wait.
Temps are supposed to go up to the 30s by Sat. Much more manageable for being outdoors. It will feel downright balmy!
Brrrr! The bright sunlight is very misleading about the temps! A lovely scene to be enjoyed very briefly.
Thank you, Barbara… bet you don’t miss these bitter windchill days! 😀
I don’t! It’s 26F this morning and we got 3.5 inches of snow yesterday. It seems like a major event to the locals!!!
Good for you for getting a walk in! I’m hunkering for warmer weather…so cold & icy, out.
Thanks, Alice. I go a bit stir-crazy inside, I had to force myself to go out, however!
No, indeed! A little on the frosty side. This post certainly made me smile.
Thank you, Laurie. The temps lift on Saturday, at last!
Hi Eliza . Definitely not! It probably won’t make you feel any better if I tell we’re in t-shirts today in south west France…..sorry!! MJ
Yeah, there are a lot of people feeling a lot more comfortable than we are right now, ha!
What a great photo. I had to laugh at the comment about warming up to 30. Around here 50s and 60s are considered cold.
Thank you. I actually like mid-30s the best, 40s can be too warm, ha! 😉
It is funny how people in different parts of the country perceive the weather. When we moved to CT I told my husband that 50 degrees would feel warm after a very cold winter.
I know, humans can be quite adaptable. 50s sounds wonderful to me right now. 😀
Far too cold here, too, for lingering outside!
Brisk walks only! 🙂
Well, I guess you need to make do with looking out the window from your warmer house, then! I bet your views are great.

Thanks, Kris. I do love country living. 🙂
But it is a nice room with a view.
Thanks, Susie. My favorite perch. 😉
Lovely!
Thank you, Diana!
Snow Queen chair.
For sure! 😀
Don’t blame you one bit and it was below zero again this morning. Gah!
Hang in there, it’s gotta change sooner or later! 🙂
A seat for a penquin! 😉
Ha, yes! 😀
If you put your snowpants on, you could sit!
Still too cold! 🥶
Our temps are below freezing now, and the wind chill’s hitting about 16-18. The north wind’s blown the water out of the bay, and we’re in it until the weekend. Your snow almost looks cozy!
Ooh, your weather sounds pretty extreme for Feb. Stay warm!
So we could say you’re chary of being chairy.
Ha, yes! 🙂
Looks like the snow got your chairs first! I guess you could still sit, but it would be a cold one (and no doubt you’d stand up with wet britches!!)
Yes, for sure. I cleared them yesterday in readiness for temps in the 30s next week. 🙂
No sitting but how pretty!
Thank you, it’s one of our favorite views. 🙂
A very pretty winter scene, but I’d want a very good hot chocolate to sit outside in that windchill!
Thank you, Adele. I keep moving, and reward myself with a cuppa once I get back inside. 😉
Very pretty and very cold! The good thing about taking a walk in such cold temperatures must surely be getting home and warmed up! 😉
You got that right… a cup of tea and the wood stove are my reward. 😉 Thanks, Cathy.
It looks so beautiful and serene, Eliza! But I imagine that, at those temperatures, the photographer hurried back inside after the scene was captured in her camera. 😊
Thank you, Tanja, it’s my favorite hangout spot. And yes, short walks with the weather we’ve been having. My lowest limit is about 15F!
One is definitely more comfortable indoors than outside at 15F!
Love the photo and hope a cup of tea warmed you up after that temperature. I’ve been hiding in the house except for appointments.🙂
Thanks, S. The teapot has seen a lot of use this winter! Hanging out inside is a sensible thing with the weather we’ve been having, and your focus is on healing after all. 🙏🏼
That looks a little cold! I’d actually welcome some snow as it’s just rain & wind here at the moment.
It seems like this winter has been unusually cold with a mix of snow, wind and freezing rain. The latter not well-received!
🙂 I was trying to guess what the tracks next to the chairs are from?
Looks like my spouse’s boot heel! 🙂
We’ve had plenty of snow too but it does look much more appealing there than on the city streets 😒
Thanks, Belinda. Yeah, dirty snowbanks and slush aren’t too appealing!
The image says, ‘come back in the spring’! Our weather has been crazy … below zero a week or so ago and know very warm. It’s like spring is coming early, but we still need more snowpack!
Thanks, Denise. We still have March to get through and a lot of our biggest storms come then. At least for us, it ‘ain’t over’ yet. 😉
